This photo popped up on  Facebook’s Memories  this morning and I am reminded  of the time I took shot of it more than nine years ago when I was just starting taking macro shots with my camera.

This picture is actually green moss clinging to our perimeter wall behind the house and that mountain-like structure you see is our concrete fence. I’ve always love experimenting on water droplets, capturing those tiny jewels on cam before they reach the ground. A minute here, a few seconds there. It’s divine!

One of my friends who is a professional photographer said he liked the composition because it was beyond ordinary and those water droplets turned out like tiny flowers. It just happened. I remember blogging about this when likes and comments at WordPress were not yet that so common.

It’s one of my favorite shots. When one is lucky enough to find a nice subject 🙂

Odette, a friend, surprised me with a visit and gave me a brand new hardbound copy of Richard Paul Evans’ latest book entitled Noel Street. She is so thoughtful when it comes to providing me with books by my favorite authors. She gave me several books and blank journals in the past years. I introduced Richard Paul Evans’ works to her and since then she had provided me with copies that are not sold here. And she likes the works of RPE too. It’s always a “one copy for me, one copy for her”. Her kids who are based abroad know this 🌝🥰☺

I enjoyed our chats while we had dinner at KFC near our place. We both wanted to avoid the traffic so KFC was our best choice. She even bought a barrel of chicken and side dishes to bring home to Josef.

I love unexpected meetings. They are priceless moments that a friendship brings.

When friends meet, hearts warm👭🌺🍻

Maybe, we cook it in different ways but the taste would always be  that delicious, a blend of so many spices and the nutty flavor of coconut cream.

I just cooked chicken curry for lunch. I have so many spices on different Asian and Singaporean recipes that Nissa brought home from their trip in Singapore. This is a yellow curry flavor. We also have the green and the red ones. I’ll partner this with sauteed string beans.

Yeay, I’m enjoying tinkering with my new phone. The three cameras are great. One is for selfie but I am not fond of selfie, one is for wide-angle shot which can be used to zoom out and shoot landscape. The rear camera is for regular use.

After his restless sleep last night waiting for Josef to come home, he finally went back to sleep this afternoon and early this evening.  He was quite comfortable in a corner with his travel pillow. Haha, sometimes he snores.

Another year, another celebration. Yes, he has just turned 35 a few hours ago.

Persuaded the birthday boy to have his photo taken today…for prosperity. He was in a hurry to leave for work but I just have to take his picture, haha 🙂

I always feel nostalgic when it comes to my kids’ birthdays. I remember those days when they were still cuddly little kids who were sometimes so inquisitive. Now they have grown and I am getting old. The memories we have will always remain forever etched in my heart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALVIN JOSEF. Love you to the moon and back.

An eye-catching, double-petaled Bougainvillea. Bougainvillea blooms always remind me of summer, those lazy days when staying in the garden early in the morning is a reward in itself.  And seeing this lovely fusion of fuchsia colors makes me smile.

Just sharing with you a photo of Oreo’s birthday cake which Jovy baked last night along with a tray of brownies for us humans.

The cake is made of rice flour, carrots, peanut butter, chicken, pork and honey. No sugar of course. Oreo and his furry friends would surely be happy.

Josef bought birthday hats and a Happy Birthday bunting banner for tonight. We’ll be having lumpiang shanghai, spaghetti, cheese sticks and brownies for dessert.  I took several shots of Oreo early this morning at the garden.

Yesterday, I saw several pictures on Facebook posted by my youngest brother. He was looking for photos  that he could make into a video as a tribute to Dad’s 97th birthday on January 16. Yes, if he were alive today, he will be turning 97.

He saw some photos of us and his godfather, our family friend Mama Julian and he posted them. That began our long conversation and exchange of  comments, reminiscing about the past and those days we were growing up. Mama Julian was our neighbor and dad’s best friend.  His children who are now living abroad noticed his post and they also joined in our chats.

Dad is the one in white shirt. This was taken almost fifteen years ago, April 2004 if I am not mistaken.

We reminisced on how they spent their days when we were in high school. Dad played the guitar and Mama Julian with his ukulele. They would compose music together and play to us kids. We talked about those days when they would play cards together with mom and Nana Mina (his wife) called Entre 7.  We remember those days when  in every fiesta in our place in the province, both of them would always act as emcees of the night’s programs. There was really no dull moment when they were around together.

One of Mama Julian’s daughters said that she would copy all those photos and would show them to him being sure that he would be glad to see them.  He is also in his nineties now and living in Brisbane with some members of the family. Dad and Nana Mina are now with the Lord.

It is nice to get in touch with friends and neighbors again after so many years. Back then, when we were growing up, they were like our extended family. Most of them including my brother are now living abroad and have their own families. One daughter  is married to my first cousin.

When friends meet, hearts warm.

Relaxing a bit after a busy morning. Would you believe, Oreo has been with us since March this year but this is the only time we had our photo together. Josef took this shot  just a few hours ago. Last photo for 2018.

Really getting old. Look at the graying hair, the double chin…haha 🙂
