My head is full at the moment thinking of events in our lives.
Getting lost here. I thought today is Friday. Had to take a look twice at my cellphone….crazy.
My head is full at the moment thinking of events happening in our lives. Sad to say, my mom’s older sister died the other day. She was 99. My brothers and I are in a quandary whether to tell mom or not. She might not be able to understand that Covid is preventing us to go there because we are on a lockdown. 65 up are not allowed to go out. Mom’s sense of hearing is practically nil. My eldest brother suggested that we just tell her after the burial.
We could not even visit Alden. My aunt and Alden’s family are in the same barangay in our province.
My condolences. If it helps to say so, I agree with your eldest brother about telling your mom only after her sister’s burial. You’re right — she may not understand about the Covid lockdown. Better days are coming..

Thank you so much. I offered a mass for my aunt and will send something to my cousins soon. My mom is now the lone survivor, she had three sisters and at 92, she is the youngest.

Sorry to hear about your aunt. Her long life makes little difference to the sense of loss in your family. You have to decide what is best for your mum, though it may be more of a shock for her to know later, even though she cannot attend the funeral.
Best wishes, Pete.

She can’t see her even if we go home because one has to observe quarantine.

For what it is worth, my Mum was just short of 99. Although she remained lucid until the last, she could never quite understand how Covid affected all our lives – how different it was. My commiserations, Arlene
