Have you heard of this gadget? Nissa has one not exactly like in the picture because hers has metal band. It is a digital watch which also shows the number of steps or strides you have taken in one particular day.
When I was at the hospital, Nissa made me wear it every time I go out to visit the university campus or to buy food. The more you move and walk or run, it would register on your fitbit. Accordingly, “Your speed depends on the length of each stride and the rate at which you turn strides over. If you want to go faster, you have to increase either stride length or stride turnover.”
Such a lovely and smart fitness tracker. It records the number of strides you have made within the day via Bluetooth on your cellphones. Nissa has to make 12,500 strides a day to earn points which have equivalent gifts converted monthly.
I enjoyed going up and down the stairs, sometimes not using the elevator to keep track of my strides. Nissa was billeted at the fourth floor so you can imagine the exercise just walking.
Today is Mama Mary’s birthday. I have always made a short blog of it through the years. It is always a nice surprise that I get lots of views every September 8. Attended the early mass at 6am. It was a lovely homily from one of my favorite priests, Fr. Leo Luanzon. We sang the Salve Regina in her honor.
Ad Jesum per Mariam! To Jesus through Mary!
Happy birthday indeed to Mama Mary. And glad to hear about your fitnedmss tracker. The great spin here is that Nissa gets rewarded whenever she get 12500 steps! I only average 3k steps a day, which obviously means I have to step up my game.
Back to Mama Mary. Yesterday, my daughter asked if Mama Mary was real or just pretend. She’s only 4 years old so I went on explaining. 🙂 Always good to introduce our catholic faith and beliefs to her early in early.

3K steps is easy to do Emile. I loved reaching the 12,500 steps. Super effort eh. Glad to know your four-year old daughter is curious about Mama Mary. Yes, it is the best time to explain it to her how important she is in our Catholic life.

Hello Arlene, yes I have a step/stride counter app. as part of my rehab program, I’m to do at least 6000 steps a day, and lately I’m achieving 7000 to 10000 steps a day….. it’s a great guide to how my recovery is progressing….. All the best wishes to you and Nissa….. xx

We have them. Don’t track your sleep with it. It’s very inaccurate.

Haha, do you need to wear it when you’re sleeping Ray?

I bought Julie one of those a couple of years ago. She tries to get to 10,000 steps a day, and can also read text messages on it, as it is synched to her phone. We don’t get any gifts for reaching the number of steps though. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Fitbits were and probably still are very popular here! I used to have one and when it broke, I replaced it. The second one started to leak strange chemical fluids so I had to toss it. When I checked to replace it (I prefer the clip-on version) the prices had gone up quite a bit and the quality down. Now I just time myself when I walk. 😉

They have them in different designs. I don’t get to do a lot of walking because my knees sometimes hurt. But fitbits are good to monitor your strides.
