Just to update you on things. Nissa finally found a surgical oncologist who was referred by her endocrinologist. He is Dr. Gerald Alcid, chairman of the Surgery program of the Univ. of Santo Tomas Hospital. She said the doctor is so kind and she is complacent with how he explained everything. She could go back to work a week after surgery. The doctor even told her that thyroid cancer is the most treatable cancer of all and assured Nissa that thyroidectomy is a safe procedure. She decided to have that surgical operation after all. I remember my own surgical oncologist ten years ago, he is also a graduate of UST. The university produces the best medical professionals in our country. Thank God for those kind doctors who put the welfare of their patients first.
Hoping for the best with God’s help.
Glad to hear that Nissa found a good doctor, and I am sure that her operation will go well. Positive thoughts!
Best wishes, Pete.

I have assisted in thyroidectomies as a scrub or circulator. Most cases are straightforward and in my workplace, surgeons do it in at least an hour and a half. Operating room nurses know which surgeon does a procedure best. If you know an OR nurse, ask her or him if she or a family member is having a procedure done, who is the surgeon she’s going to go to. Praying for the best outcome on Nissa’s surgery. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

She is confident about her doctor Dee. He is the chairman of the department of surgery at the UST Surgery Program, a surgical oncologist. He was recommended by her endocrinologist. Hoping all will be well. Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

Her doctor is most likely the best and experienced as well. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be in the position he is now in UST. It’s great she found a surgeon she could trust.

Yes, she’s been to two other doctors at Makati Med, yung isa nag quote sobrang mahal, between 300K to 350K daw abutin eh hanggang 200K lang cover nang insurance niya per confinement.

Wow. Ang naririnig ko mahal daw talaga sa Makati Med? Magaling pa rin ba sila? Hindi na ako updated kung ano ang mga best performing hospitals sa Pilipinas. UST always had a good reputation.

Mahal but I don’t know about the doctors kung ganun din sila kagaling. Dun din ako nagpapa ospital before.

Mabuti naman nakakita siya ng doctor na kampante siya. Dapat may trust between doctor and patient. It makes a big difference. Praying that everything goes well, and for Nissa’s speedy recovery. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
