Hello Arlene, kumusta na?
Early this morning I checked my memories app at Facebook then I saw this simple message with a picture in it which was sent several years ago.
I felt like crying remembering my friend who sent it. She passed on sometime in 2012 because of old age and illness. She used to teach in Thailand for a time until she came home for good because of her health. We were friends at Multiply, that lovely app which closed eventually. I had a premium account there so I was able to upload even my favorite CDs. I was close to about a hundred friends. Engagements were always something to look forward to.
Back then, Belle was so appreciative of my posts and I loved seeing her updates especially on her two grandsons and her varied Christmas decorations all the years that we were friends. I called her one time when we all transferred to Facebook and she said she missed the camaraderie we had before at Multiply. This morning, I visited her site recalling those times that we were both active exchanging comments and photos of our families. She was a poet.
Just like Belle, I miss Ding, another friend who used to tag me with her writings. We’ve seen each other twice before she migrated to the US and stayed there for a while. Both of them were older than me. I was shocked to learn of her demise so soon.
Mary An was another friend I got close to during our Multiply days then on to FB. I remember her sending me her baked goodies and one time she sent me two CD copies of Henry Mancini’s albums. She learned that I love instrumental music. When I was hospitalized during my cancer operation, the lovely arrangement of flowers she and her son brought to the hospital touched me and it made me cry. Despite her being a paraplegic, she went out of her way to bring me flowers. She was so thoughtful. I gave her inspirational books in the process.
Oh, to remember those friends who left this world, my heart is yearning to read their posts again. Ding and Mary An were also bloggers at WordPress.
