I am getting lazy, take that to mean I am getting bored with what is happening around.
It’s almost six months now that practically, there was no social life for me except those times that Jovy’s grandmother and her cousin came over for a visit and when Nissa and Obet visited us more than a month ago. In between are just calls and conversations with my brother who is based in Tulsa, several calls with my niece who is based in Singapore and occasional messages from my brother and sis-in-law who are staying in the province. My brother after almost a year of being indisposed is back to his old job but is not a full-time one. The present mayor of our place asked him to help them even with three persons who replaced his old job. Their experience is not enough to meet the requirements of being municipal administrator. I told him to take it easy, good thing his present project is right within our barangay.
Even blogging for me has somehow lost is appeal. There was a time when I used to blog so early in the morning even thinking of what to write about the night before.
2020 brought so much, unlikely happenings that we’ve never expected and this is happening worldwide. The political scenario here is dim and it has been like that the past four years. I wonder, will we be able to get up again and make us proud of our country?
We have lots of talented, responsible, decision-makers, and well-educated and experienced individuals who could run the country but….. and we are in dire need of new faces who are not corrupt. We are in dire need of people who would think of the welfare of the millions of Filipinos and not concerned about their pockets. Good governance is what most of us dream of. Would it be just a dream now? We need problem solvers, those who have plans on what to do with these gargantuan problems we are facing now most especially this pandemic which has now become the biggest problem that these legislators and officers of the land have to address. Yes, to tell you the truth, I am getting tired of it all.
I am trying to lose myself in books and watching Interaktib every night. This program makes me laugh.
How are you all coping with this pandemic? I hope everyone of you is safe.
Lots of people are fed up with COVID-19. John and I are blessed, because we have continued living our lives with few changes. We never went out much, and we have continued shopping, though wearing masks now. Our family came to visit, and we had a marvelous time with everyone. We visit neighbors on porches or out on the lawn. I feel sorry for those whose lives have been upended and folks like you who know government leaders are not doing their best for the people. I will continue to pray for you, your country, and mine.

You are truly blessed and lucky Anne. You are not much affected by this pandemic. You still live a normal life but this is a “new normal” for us, you can’t get out, you rely on online business transactions and messengers to buy essentials. Actually, it is more costly for things that you need like medicines and some necessities because you still have to pay delivery charges. As for the food, we have so many vendors/sellers in our subdivision and it is okay because they bring their goods to the gate. One good thing though is that I am able to hear mass online every day. I miss Nissa’s family especially Nate. Thank you so much for the prayers. It’s really what we need.

Yes Arlene, being in isolation is definitely unhealthy for our general well-being, it’s tiring both physically and mentally…The pandemics like an invisible dark cloud of oppression weighing down on us as an extra piece of gravity
Take care Arlene…๐

I agree with you Ivor, it is an unseen enemy and we don’t know how to fight it. Be safe always.

Think that this is now normal. Did have a BBQ on the beach with family. Five months since we met together.

It is I guess and this would probably take a year or more. Truly, truly sad. Thanks Diana ๐

There are many others whose lives have been turned upside down, so I am thankful John and I were spared. Logan will be attending school on line, and his mother will have to oversee it. A young man from church lost his job. He found another right away, but it may not be a good one for the long term. I feel really sorry for all who are struggling at this time.

The Dept. of Education here says the start of classes would be on August 24. Nate’s school is adopting online classes too. I wonder how the public schools and those students who cannot afford those online gadgets like computers, laptops, tabs would fare. It is all topsy turvy if you ask me.

2020 has been a year that changed so many lives, and the way we will have to live well into next year too. Strange weather on top of everything adds to that ‘Doomsday’ feeling affecting many, yet young people mainly continue to act as if nothing has happened except they had a very long holiday from school.
Best wishes, Pete.

That is so true Pete. If I may say, it started with the bush fire in Australia followed by the eruption of Taal volcano then this china virus and now the destructionin Beirut. Where is the world coming to? It is scary๐ช

It is not easy, but we persevere for the greater good. So many have lost their lives, out of respect alone, I try to maintain and do my part to keep the virus at bay. Hang in there!

Hi Maggie, thanks. I guess we each have to be careful and responsible to combat this pandemic.

I think we are all getting tired of this situation. Let’s look at the long run: maybe it will be a few more months… we need patience… Stay safe.

That is so true Brian but I doubt if that would end in the last few months of the year.

let’s say end of year is a “practical” date. We’ll see then. Hopefully eh US will have a new president which can only be good for all of us… ๐

Two years more for us, if there will be an election come 2022. They way it is now, election is quite nil.

So it’s six years too? Another similarity with Mexico. At least it’s only 2 years left. I hope there is no reelection… ๐๐ป

Reelection is not allowed in our present Constitution Brian. Their game is to field his daughter who is now a mayor in their turf, Davao. Enough is enough. Tired of them.

Arenโt we all? Tyrants have found their way around โdemocratic electionsโ. They buy votes. Place their pawns, family, and we let it happenโฆ Well, hang on in thereโฆ

This happens to be the new normal now. I donโt think things can ever go back to what it was even when thereโs a vaccine. We really just have to get used to itโฆand that is sad and frustrating. Ingat lagi Arlene.
