Dream Home

Write about your dream home.

One thing I know is that when love is present in a house between family members, you can call it your dream home no matter how small or how big it is.

A house is not a home when there is no love, respect and trust in every member of the family.

Today, February 11, is the 33rd World Day of the Sick which is also the commemoration of the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes. Let us take time to say a prayer for the sick as well as for those caregivers who work hard to ease their suffering, giving hope and encouraging words to help them through their painful journey.

Hubby and I frequented this place when I was undergoing my chemotherapy at the UST Hospital several years ago.

I deliberately postponed reading The Red Tent  which is supposed to be my 18th read this year but I have started The Parish Agent by Kelly Rimmer. Rimmer is one author whose books I look forward to. I have read four of her books in the past, all historical fiction. The Parish Agent is another book about WWII. Yes, I haven’t tired yet of reading world  history although they are written in fiction.

I took shot of the reading challenge on Goodreads for the first quarter of 2025. Done with five, the sixth one is still a mystery. Sorry for the blurry effect.

HE KNOWS MY NAME

He hears every whisper

He knows every sigh

He smiles when you laugh

He  encourages when you’re down

He speaks in silence

He whispers your name

He moves mountains

He calms the storms.

And when your need is greater than your faith

He gently whispers, “Don’t be afraid, I am here.”

YOU AND I

Our eyes caught each other once

You were alone and so was I

We never thought then,

that it would end up to this,

You –

making it so beautiful

for me

to feel the pain of loving

and the sweetness of being loved

I kept my thoughts to myself until you came

the passing pages of my life

were no different from the others

Then-

Somehow –

I realized, it was different with you

From then on,

in between those pages

I’ve written your name

And in between those pages

We shared a lovely dream.

Our eyes caught each other once again,

but this time, to make that dream come true.

LOVE, IS IT?

1

How many times have we said goodbye?

And yet, each time we do

We always end up saying hello.

2

In the silence of a song

I hear your voice

And in the periphery of dreams,

Stood you and I.

3

Many times, we just wandered along

Going as far as our feet could carry us

It’s mere togetherness that counts.

4

Do you remember the night

We thought there was a half-moon

Shining above, only to find out later

It was a big ball of neon light.

5

We exchange thoughts, little things, big and small

To think we could touch on such a

Delicate subject as  love.

6

Those seem silly I guess

Maybe, we too are a bundle

Of crazy people saying

Crazy things to each other.

7

Sometimes, I feel I’m much too big

for the world, I feel a lone swimmer

Groping in the ocean of life.

8

But the knowledge that you are there

Is comfort enough and the mere sight of you

Is a most welcome thing I could ever know.

9

Today, many thoughts keep burning in my head

Attempting to gather them all

In the guise of a poem

But the simile and the metaphors

All seem mixed-up

Perhaps I ought to try again

another time you’re here.

10

In between dreams and reality

Still stand you and me,

and we call this Love….
