And that means going back for lab tests and check-ups. My last visit to my hematologist was two months ago. My other doctor visits will be in September.

I’ll have a check-up with my hematologist tomorrow although my platelet count that she is monitoring is normal. I’m a good patient….haha.  Her sky-high professional fee is not covered by my Intellicare health insurance. She only accepts cash.  The truth is, I am always praying that my health would stay in the low range of CKD and DM2. That’s manageable enough if I may say. I do spend  more than 6K a month for my medications on top of the four kinds of medicines provided free by our Municipal Health Office. One of the perks of being a senior citizen in our town. I get 20% discount on medicines with prescriptions. I also need to submit the doctor’s prescription at the Municipal Health Office to avail of the other four  and that is renewable every four  months.

I  am not so comfortable going out during these rainy months. Good thing, we only have thunderstorms this afternoon. Our weather bureau is monitoring an LPA (Low Pressure Area) that has entered our country but they said it won’t likely turn into tropical depression. There are three expected weather disturbances this month. Three are several LPAs running after each other in the Pacific Ocean at the moment. I am hoping they won’t reach the Philippines.

Lab Tests

I finally got the results of my laboratory tests this afternoon. Although my FBS is still a bit elevated, my creatinine is normal, RBC and WBC are normal, uric acid is normal and my platelet count has gone down too. I’ll have my check-up with my nephrologist on  Monday.

Yesterday, our municipal office delivered the free medicines for highblood and another 30 days free Gliclazide for my sugar. I need to replenish my medical prescription before the  end of the month and it will be good for another three months. They need to be updated so I could avail of the free medicines. Despite the free meds, I still have to buy  other medications.  I am hoping that by the time my endocrinologist   comes back by April, my HbAic would have gone down. I don’t want to consult another endocrinologist since I am already comfortable with the present one.
