Seeing all the photos I took when I was with Nissa’s family last Christmas, I thought of sharing more of them here. The daily grind of a provincial life in the city.

It is so nice to see them scratching for food. They are owned by one of Nissa’s neighbors with that almost ripe guyabano fruit. I brought home some leaves of the latter which I boiled into tea.
I loved how those little kids with their scooters ran around the streets close to their homes late in the afternoon and sometimes at night.

Since Nissa’s home is on the west side, I always had the opportunity to see the sunrise in the east and staying in their wrap-around balcony. It was so nice to feel the sun’s morning warmth while sipping a hot mug of coffee and at the same time feeling the cold morning breeze.
Obet usually clean their big garage in the morning, weed in their two small gardens while Nissa prepares breakfast. It is also nice to see Nate assembling his Gundam gifts in their family room after breakfast. I love watching Nissa prepare our meals every day. I actually took shots of them and made them into an album on FB. She has become so adept at cooking and serving food on the table.
I had my first taste of lighting lucis (firecrackers) on New Year’s eve after so long that I enjoyed it with Nate and Obet while munching on tacos with the accompaniment of Obet’s music. It was fun. It was like being a child again.
BTW, Nissa told me that the Young Thomasian Ambassador and Ambassadress (YTAA) pre-coronation will be held this coming Saturday with all the 16 semi-finalists competing for more talent segments and modelling of their uniforms. They’ll get 8 for the finals. I told Nissa confidence is the key and Nate is not a shy guy. I wish him the best of everything.
