Typhoon Usagi (locally named Ofel) has just made a landfall over Baggao, Cagayan in the north. The next tropical depression Man-yi is called Pepito locally.  I copied the weather report of Pagasa  where we will be affected. Pepito is our 16th weather disturbance.

“Weather Advisory No. 31
For: Tropical Cyclone #OfelPH and MAN-YI
Issued at: Nov. 14, 2024, 2 P.M.

Heavy rainfall outlook due to Tropical Cyclone OFEL and MAN-YI

Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon (November 17)
Intense to Torrential (>200 mm):
Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur

Heavy to Intense (100-200 mm):
Northern Samar, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Marinduque, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Metro Manila, Pampanga, Bulacan, Bataan, Batangas, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Aurora”.

These are both super typhoons reaching Category 5. I am worried about the rain. This afternoon, it is cloudy but we have no rain. I hope as reported, these two would be the last northward storms as we will have ‘Hanging Amihan’ next, cold winds from Siberia. By December, typhoons if there are, would be southbound to Mindanao.

I postponed my appointment with my hematologist (scheduled tomorrow) for next Friday, November 22 which is Nate’s birthday.

I asked Nissa to monitor  the weather since Nate has another scheduled Taekwondo competition either by Saturday or Sunday in Manila.

When you are in a typhoon belt like the Philippines, you always worry about its effect. So many lives and properties were already lost because of the successive typhoons the past two weeks.

Thank God He spared us from the wrath of typhoon Kristine which devastated the province of Bicol. It finally landed somewhere in the north in the province of Isabela last night. This is the first time that a typhoon affected the whole Philippines  from Luzon to Mindanao.

Early this morning, I went outside for a while to buy some items from the corner grocery  store. Brrr…it was cold. It was windy coupled by a drizzle. I recently read that Angat Buhay has collected a total of P7,300,549.06 at 8am today through its arm Kaya Natin! Movement For Good Governance and Ethical Leadership.

Truly amazing! You don’t need to have an official title in the government to help the needy and the victims of calamities.

Our weather bureau Pagasa is watching a low pressure area (LPA) outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) which may enter our country in the next 24 hours. It would be named Leon. And here I thought we are nearing  Amihan (trade winds) since it is almost  the end of October.
