When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?
Being rich or having that vast amount of money does not necessarily equate to being successful. You might be rich but you are not happy in your life. A former boss once told me, you don’t live to work but work to live.
Who does not want to be successful? Who does not want to live a happy life? We might be successful in other fields of endevour but there is still something that one needs to do to be called truly successful. In Economics, you call this insatiable wants.
I define success with being at peace with myself, having enough wisdom to see through life as it really is, without blinders, without limited outlook on life but seeing it in all angles but most of all accepting what God has destined one to be.
When you are at peace with yourself, happiness is there lurking in the background and you can accept things more easily be they are not to your liking or be they are something you really need and want. Life is a circle of ups and downs, overcoming vicissitudes, trying to get up again when you fall down, being wise enough to start all over again.
We cannot exactly pinpoint a person who thinks he/she is successful, it still depends on one’s outlook in life.
