I was absolutely knackered yesterday. I was quietly reading when I received a message from Globe Sta. Lucia Mall telling me that my request to change one of my phones from postpaid to prepaid was not yet done. Since Josef and I have been there last Thursday and they promised 24 to 48 hours, it should have been done. One of their account specialists suggested that I visit them again. Hassle! I braved the traffic going to the mall. I was surprised there were so many people only to realize that it was a holiday.
I slept very early around 7pm and woke up so early too. By 6am, I was done sweeping the yard and cleaning the house. I even went outside to sweep the front of our house. I only saw one house decorated with Christmas lights outside. Signs of the times? Unlike before, even Christmas decor now are so expensive. I guess people would rather buy basic necessities and look to celebrating noche buena. I again saw a photo of the DTI secretary telling people just to buy sardines so the P500 peso they set as budget for noche buena would be enough. How insensitive could they get? They clearly don’t know the plight of an ordinary Filipino wishing to have a least a good meal to share with family members. Afterall, it’s the celebration of Christmas.
The sun hasn’t shown its face yet until now. It’s raining again.
