Here’s another meme I made long ago. Took this shot while we were on top of the hill in Caleruega, Nasugbu, Batangas in one of our road trips.

Do you need time?
Yesterday is gone, the future is not promised, the only thing we have is NOW!

A World War II story of survival, resilience and redemption. I am about to start this, my 86th read this year. It was rated 4.39 stars on Goodreads but David Baldacci, another favorite author rated it five stars. I got curious. It is classified as inspirational at Goodreads. You’d think it is a novel but the story is real. I’ve heard of Laura Hillenbrand before but this is the first time I’ll read a book of hers. It was published in 2010.
The sun is shining now here in our neck of the woods. It’s been raining for two days because of typhoon Tino. It brought havoc in the Visayas particularly Cebu, Samar and Leyte. As I write this, it is now in El Nido, Palawan. In Talisay, Cebu, there was a total devastation where floodwaters swallowed homes, roads, cars and the people’s memories. It reached their second floor and you’ll see people atop their homes. It reminds me of typhoon Ondoy back in 2009 when most of Metro Manila was under water. We had to renovate.
Until the government stops treating public funds like their personal allowance, we taxpayers will always be the ones paying the highest price. Years of corruption beginning when Duterte became president emptied the coffers of the government. And no one hasn’t been jailed yet. Investigations left and right, congressmen, senators, our Dept. of Public Works and Highways and private contractors were involved. They were supposed to protect the people but billions wentΒ into their pockets. I felt numb seeing those photos of devastation when everything turned to rubble.
Disgusting! Sickening, Repulsive,Horrible.π‘π π
