It started flowering last month after more than a year of waiting. This is a lone powder puff plant which thrived from some seeds given by a gardener friend. 

I was surprised seeing it with so many flowers while I was watering the garden early this morning.

It is called calliandra haematocephala. Its colorful unique flowers make them attractive additions to gardens, borders and hedges. They also attract hummingbirds and butterflies.🦋🦋🦋
