I am enjoying reading the book given by Nissa on my birthday. There is a personal message from the authors, Fr. Kali and Fr. Regie. As I have said before in my other blog posts, both of them are Nate’s friends. They have watched  him grow from a toddler to a young man.

Fr. Regie is presently the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Manila. He also serves as the Mission Station Priest of the Mary  Mother of Hope Chapel in Landmark, Makati and the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel in SM, Makati.  Fr. Kali is currently  pursuing his Licentiate in the Cultural Heritage of the Church at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

The book is a compilation of their inspiring and lovely homilies when they were both assigned in Manila Cathedral  as  Rector and Vice-Rector.

I love these quotes from the book:

Jesus touches us in so many ways. Let’s share that touch with others. See to it that every day you impact even one life. Make someone happy or feel better. Do it with the touch of Jesus.

He is greater than any victory.

Greater than any disappointment.

Greater than any defeat.

Greater than  any work that we could have done.

We entrust everything to the Father – including the setbacks – because He is greater than all that. For even in disappointments  Jesus is at work, giving us small victories in life.

Nissa sent me several photos last night which she took over the weekend. Will post some to my other blog, Our Precious Bundle of Joy.

Back in 2019, when she was operated on at the UST Hospital, we talked about our friends some of whom are priests and religious. I told her it is always nice someone out there is always praying for you even if you don’t ask for prayers.

She told me about their weekly attendance on Sunday masses at The Manila Cathedral and even showed a photo of the previous rector there Fr. Regie Malicdem. Since then especially during the pandemic, I attend their online masses daily together with Fr. Kali Llamado, their vice-rector. Fr. Regie was transferred as the chaplain of our Lady of Hope Landmark Chapel in Makati last November. Nate befriended both of them by approaching them for blessings after the mass. They always say hello to him. They have watched him grow from a little inquisitive boy to a tall young man at ten. The other Sunday, they attended mass at the Landmark Chapel. Last Sunday, they were back at The Manila Cathedral and Fr. Kali presided the mass. For Nate, it won’t be complete without seeing his priest friends after the mass.

Fr. Kali is leaving for Rome soon to pursue further studies. They gave him a small parting gift which Nissa had personalized. Nissa took a picture, it’s a bit blurry though.

It is indeed lovely to have religious friends.
