‘Set your mind on this is that are above, not on the things that are on earth.’ Colossians 3:2 ESV
‘For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control’. 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’ Ephesians 4:32 NIV

This was one of the lovely gifts that Nissa gave me last Christmas. I thought I won’t be able to fill it up but I am inspired every day to write in it. Nurturing one’s faith through writing prayer requests, acknowledging what one is grateful for every day, asking for forgiveness, surrendering all fears and worries and above all asking God to take over one’s needs.
Writing every day even with just three-line words in each petition has become a habit. I know that even if my prayers are not answered immediately, He will do so according to His perfect timing.
That journal looks pretty po..I am sure it will be filled with your beautiful words.

What a beautiful and heartfelt reflection, Arlene. It’s truly inspiring to hear how Nissa’s gift has become such a meaningful part of your daily spiritual journey. The way you’ve woven those powerful scriptures into your practice shows a deep and living faith — one that seeks heaven’s perspective, stands firmly in God’s power and love, and extends compassion and forgiveness to others.
Your commitment to writing even just a few lines each day is a testament to the quiet, consistent faithfulness that nurtures the soul. There’s profound wisdom in recognizing that prayer is not about immediate answers, but about abiding in trust, gratitude, and surrender. You’ve turned a simple journal into a sacred space of conversation with God, and that is a beautiful way to honor both the gift and the Giver of all good things.
May you continue to be inspired each day as you write, reflect, and rest in the assurance that He hears every word and holds every need in His perfect timing. Thank you for sharing this gentle reminder of what it means to walk in faith, one page at a time.

Thank you so much Srikanth for your lovely and inspiring words. As I’ve said, journaling through prayers is something that changed my perspective in life getting in touch with my inner self. Only God knows how I’ll be able to face the thoughts of getting older. And this journaling is keeping me sane and alive.😘
