I seldom DNF a book but sometimes we encounter books that seem so dull and you have no choice but to stop reading it. I have so many books on my TBR list so this is not actually a loss. I started All The Colors Of The Dark by Chris Whitaker with so much anticipation, all of 597 pages of it but along the way, I lost the thrill of reading it. It was tagged as a mystery thriller. From time to time, I read thrillers but my favorite genre will always be something historical, both fiction and non-fiction.
Still trying to read Christmas books. I love the way Jesus’ birth is celebrated in different cultures. Some are more focused on the decor, Christmas parties and food but in the process they somehow forget while it is celebrated. I read 1,951 books since I joined Goodreads back in 2011, read 94 out of 80 books I promised to read this year in Goodreads Reading Challenge 2025.
I am presently reading A Wish For Winter by Viola Shipman. It is a nice start.
I have only 3 DNFs in my lifetime

I always used to finish every book I read. But since I got older, I have less patience with reading. A novel has to grab me, then keep me interested, or I won’t carry on reading.
Best wishes, Pete.

I have around five or six books that I didn’t finish reading Pete even if they had good reviews at Goodreads.✨️

Oh I missed reading books. The smell of a freshly opened page is so inviting. I haven’t read a book in a while. The last book about Christmas that I finished was “Skipping Christmas” by John Grisham.

I have read that several years ago, I have already forgotten the story. Apart from reading books about Christmas, I always read Bubble bunny on FB (small letters on bunny). I love their short stories. Thanks Jay.✨️
