Last Monday was my first time to go out in a year because of this pandemic. I went to Union Bank to get my new savings account card because their Stock Transfer department needs it for future cash dividends starting next year. I was supposed to submit my authority to submit the papers allowing credit to my account, unfortunately, their Stock Transfer was closed.

I was supposed to change the given PIN to my card but even the ATM is not updated. It was a holiday here yesterday. It’ll be a hassle to go back again. We went to a nearer branch of the bank yesterday to no avail. The two doggies were with us. They are so used tagging along every time Jovy and Josef go out. I took a photo of Cookie, she was excited. We went to Shakeys later for a late lunch.

The December wind blows and I am happy.

Aside from my birth month, it is one of the most awaited month of the year. I haven’t wrapped my Christmas gifts for the family yet, one nice thing to do in the coming days, afterall Christmas is just twenty four days away.

Excited, oh yes of course even if December 24 is a regular working day. Today is our town fiesta. We celebrate the sumbintik festival every year. It’s a festival of sweets made by Cainta residents. How nice to begin the month watching the display of several houses even if it is only online. They are having dances/program right now before the concelebrated mass begins at 9am. I am sure it would be a blessed and happy celebration.

HAPPY FIESTA CAINTA🙂❤🌻🎉🎈

It is Oreo’s third birthday. They say that the equivalent dog years depend on the breed of the dog and on how big or small they are. For a poodle, Oreo is fully grown.

We took lots of pictures of course. He has lots of Dentastix, 2 cartoons of doggie milk and three kilos of dog food as gifts. There was this single small slipper as a freebie from where we bought the decor, buntings and balloon but it was a toy for him, it has a pretty sound when he shakes it.

What a lovely birthday, the humans enjoyed the food – pancit bihon, calamare and a medium-sized boodle bilao which has fried rice, lumpia, fried chicken, grilled pork slices, pork sisig and even eggplant and salted egg.

Happy third birthday Oreo.

That doggie cake has liver but I wonder what they used to color its face. Does it looks like Oreo?

Finally I was able to take some closer shots of Cookie. I am sharing just two here. Look at the shirt she is wearing. It says UST, a legacy from Oreo when he was still a puppy.

That’s how she looks a little closer.  Oreo is now protective of her. She had her deworming shots today  while  Oreo had his Anti-rabbies vaccination and fur trim.

I was quietly reading when he came barking his heart out. Then he noticed our glass sliding doors and he saw two dogs, he stopped for a while and faced me. He went out of the room and  got his small doggie toy.

“A peace offering”? I asked.

He then positioned himself at the edge of the bed and looked at me.

“Oh, you’re sorry you are barking out loud”, I said. Look at his eyes, he seems sorry enough. I have to cuddle him and he licked my arms.

We’re friends again.

That’s Oreo….bow!

Can’t wait to share this. Josef, members  of Obet’s immediate family and I attended Nate’s graduation blow-out after a two-hour ceremony where he garnered  almost all the awards given this school year for Kindergarten 2.  Nonna is so proud of this little guy. He led the prayers of the graduates earlier.  Nissa took lots of pictures and videos but I just love these two. Will post some of the pictures later on my blog about Nate. Next school year, he’ll be in Grade one.

I can’t tell you how nice and lovely it is to see my daughter, son-in-law and Nate after almost a month of not seeing each other. We were laughing at Nate while eating lunch, he surely had a big appetite.  There is really no need to feed him like most kids his age. He can hold a fork and spoon so well.

All our attention seemed to be  focused on him always. After lunch, we had a great time letting him read  three-letter words provided by Nissa. Yes, he is starting to read and he is in junior Kindergarten.  I think his teachers teach them phonetics. He has to sound each letter first before saying the right word.  Bravo, I’m impressed. I can’t wait for the day he will start reading a whole sentence or a paragraph even.

Back in my time when I started studying in the province, we didn’t have Nursery or Kindergarten. One has to start directly from Grade 1. Imagine, you only learn to write each letter of the alphabet in the first grade.  I  had a hard time adjusting to high school life when Dad enrolled me in UST.  Having spent my grade school days back home, I could not help but compare the way they taught us in the province. They were more advanced here in the city.

We played ball, made figures out of  the  plastic blocks we have here and  the Lego set he brought  along with him. My goodness, he is more creative than I am when it comes to all those tiny  bricks.  I can’t match the dexterity of his hands. I didn’t grow up with Lego bricks. My cousins and I spent our spare time playing outside, sometimes in the heat of the sun or after dinner.

A little later he joined Mom while the latter was playing solitaire with her old playing cards. Nate said, ” I know how to play cards”. “Really?” I asked. He just smiled.

Haha, he acted like he really knew the game. But it was just arranging the sequence of the numbers with the same  designs.

We ended up having  two  large boxes of pizza for snacks. Would you believe? Nate finished three slices.

Family day is always the best for me. Hugging  Nate close  and opening his window to say goodbye.  And as always, hearing his “See you later”.
