I had the opportunity to play with Oreo and Cookie yesterday afternoon. They stayed in my room for a while. As always, Oreo was so noisy barking at the dogs outside. Cookie was so “malambing” and she liked being cuddled. Took some photos of course. Look at the two of them.

Cookie is now so big at one year and eight months. We had three aircon installers yesterday so they had to stay in my room. Josef and Jovy had their old aircon replaced by 1HP split type inverter aircon which was a gift from Jovy’s dad. He also sent money for Max’s hospitalization. It’s the seventh day now that he is sick and he is still at the pet hospital. He does not eat well yet so he has to be supervised by the vet.

I am so worried about my brother. He barely eats and doesn’t have a restful sleep. I again asked Nissa if we could visit him one weekend. We could not bring mom though because for sure if she is there, nobody could take care of her. My sis-in-law is focused on Alden. My mom doesn’t understand our situation. Although we want her to see Alden too, it would be very hard for all of us if she would be left behind there. I do hope one weekend we could visit my brother.

Here’s an update on our two fur babies, Oreo and Cookie. They had their furs trimmed last week. It is a regular thing now. Yesterday, Cookie has her pneumonia vaccine. Just like humans, they have their regular check -up with the vet. Our other four dogs stay outside. The three of them are adopted from the dog pound. We haven’t learned to pet Lassie yet. She is too elusive. She now mingles with the other dogs but when I try to pet her, she turns around. Maybe before we got her, she was a victim of torture. Even animals feel the hardship of trusting humans if they experienced something bad.

Here are photos of Oreo and Cookie.

This is how Oreo looks now. He is half the size of Cookie.

Yesterday, we got worried about Cookie. Her bowel movement was frequent so at around 8:30 pm last night, Josef and Jovy had to bring her to the vet. She has Parvo, a contagious virus affecting dogs. She was given several medications and seven days injections which cost sky-high. She probably got it when they usually go out for a walk inside our village.

Oreo stayed with me last night and he’s now asleep at the foot of the bed. When Jovy and Josef came home from the vet clinic today, they sanitized everything inside the house. Jovy did the fogging and floor cleaning while Josef disinfected the garden. After a while, a veterinarian and his two companions arrived. Noki has three shots, anti-rabies (which we do every year) immunity and deworming. Nika and Niki had immunity, deworming and anti-rabies vaccine too. They could not catch Lassie, the elusive one so they were not able to vaccinate her. Oreo had his 8 in one vaccine months ago while Cookie had her 5 in one at the same time. I guess Parvo vaccine is not included in the latter.

As I have said before, our fur babies are family members so if one of them gets sick, we worry. I hope Cookie will get well soon. I asked the vet why some dogs seem to be always afraid of human and he said, they might have been maltreated in the early years of their lives.
