Ad Jesum per Mariam! To Jesus through Mary.

Of all the images that I saw of Mama Mary, I love this the most. NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA LECHE. An image of a mother breastfeeding her child.

I took this in one of the exhibits I attended with a friend  back in 2012. Oh, and my stats at WordPress is again doing a crazy dance since last night. There was a time when I garnered more than 4,300 hits in one day because of my blog on Mama Mary’s birthday. And every time her birthday comes, there is always a spike in my stats.

Let it be known that we don’t worship Mary, we venerate her.

I don’t know how many times I blogged about the Blessed Mother through all these years since I started blogging. There were three  consecutive years back then when my stats jumped by the thousands because of one blog  post alone. Tomorrow is another day we Catholics would always remember. It’s Mama Mary’s birthday.  Years ago, I shared some quotes  about her and I will be sharing some again today as a tribute to her.  They were culled from various Catholic sites that I sometimes visit and from our own Catholic page at Facebook of which I am one of the admins. I am also re-posting  something I made from muzy.com back in 2015.

Praying the rosary in her honor always calms me. When I feel so down, when I am afraid, when I can’t sleep at night, the rosary is just nearby. When I get sick, I hold the rosary in my hands and try to pray at  least the fifteen mysteries.  Here are some Marian quotes that I really love.

“Love the Madonna and pray the Rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.” – St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina.

“May the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, always smile on your spirit, obtaining for it, from her Most Holy Son, every heavenly blessing.” – St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina

“Let us not imagine that we obscure the glory of the Son by the great praise we lavish on the Mother; for the more she is honored, the greater is the glory of her Son. There can be no doubt that whatever we say in praise of the Mother gives equal praise to the Son.” –  St. Bernard of Clairvaux

”The honor of Mary is so intimately connected with the honor and glory of Jesus that to deny the one is at the same time a denial of the other.”
–Blessed William Joseph Chaminade

“Mary seeks for those who approach her devoutly and with reverence, for such she loves, nourishes, and adopts as her children.”
–St. Bonaventure, Doctor of the Church

“If you invoke the blessed Virgin when you are tempted, she will come at once to your help, and Satan will leave you.” – St. John Vianney

I hope it is not too late to say “happy birthday  Mama Mary”.

For those of you who read  my blog regularly, you might have noticed that since 2011, I’ve been getting upward spike every time I blog about Mama Mary’s birthday and the bulk of views comes from my country. Ad Jesum per Mariam! To Jesus through Mary!

If there is one event in the Catholic calendar that we all love to celebrate, it’s Mama Mary’s birthday. And for those who think that we worship Mama Mary, WE DON’T but we honor her. We see motherly love, goodness and gentleness in Mama Mary.

And here’s a lovely picture and message posted earlier at our Catholic site, the Apostles Filipino Catholic Community (AFCC).

I need not tell you how important the Blessed Virgin Mary is in my Catholic life. We venerate her and pray that she intercedes for us because she is the one closest to God. We venerate Mary so we could worship God better. Praying the rosary almost every day keeps me at peace and calm before any big storm that comes into my life. Tomorrow, September 8 is her birthday. And this is another tribute to her.

Prayer for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

O Virgin immaculate, thou who by a singular privilege of grace wast preserved from original sin, look in pity upon our separated brethren, who are nevertheless thy children, and call them back to the center of unity. Not a few of them, although separated from the Church, have kept a certain veneration for thee; and do thou, generous as thou art, reward them for it, by obtaining for them the grace of conversion.

Thou wast conqueror of the infernal serpent from the first instant of thy existence; renew even now, for it is now more necessary than ever before, thine ancient triumphs; glorify thy divine Son, bring back to Him the sheep that have strayed from the one fold and place them once more under the guidance of the universal Shepherd who holds the place of thy Son on earth; let it be thy glory, O Virgin who destroyest all heresies, to restore unity and peace once more to all the Christian people.

And I want to share more quotes on the Blessed Virgin Mary:

“From Mary we learn to surrender to God’s Will in all things. From Mary we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone. From Mary we learn to love Christ her Son and the Son of God!”
~Pope John Paul II~

“Mary is the lily in God’s garden.”
~ Saint Bridget of Sweden ~

“Seek refuge in Mary because she is the city of refuge. We know that Moses set up three cities of refuge for anyone who inadvertently killed his neighbor. Now the Lord has established a refuge of mercy, Mary, even for those who deliberately commit evil. Mary provides shelter and strength for the sinner.”
-Saint Anthony of Padua, Doctor of the Church

“What a joy to remember that she is our Mother! Since she loves us and knows our weakness, what have we to fear?”
– Saint Therese of Lisieux, Doctor of the Church

“May the Mother of Jesus and our Mother, always smile on your spirit, obtaining for it, from her Most Holy Son, every heavenly blessing.”
-Saint Padre Pio

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA MARY

I spent the afternoon visiting the 7th Marian Exhibit sponsored by Radio Veritas. What a fitting tribute to Mama Mary on her birthday. I took more than a hundred shots and I am posting some of them here. I feasted my eyes on the different images of Mama Mary.  This is the first time that I attended a Marian exhibit this lovely. I am looking forward to attending a mass there tomorrow with Fr. Jerry Orbos as the mass presider.
