Still About Goodreads

I recently explored the Goodreads app while looking for a book that I could read. It will be my fifth one. One of my favorite authors Nadia Hashimi has accepted my ‘friend invite’. I am curious to know the books she reads and how she writes those amazing books.
I blogged about this a few days before when I started my 2025 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I was surprised about the four achievements they awarded me during the last quarter of the year.
- Sapphire Reader – one book on 10/04/24
- Emerald Reader – three books on 10/08/24
- Diamond Reader – five books on 10/29/24
- Choice Awards – reading a Goodreads Choice Award nominee between November 14 and January 1.
For this quarter, they have new ones. Buzzy Books, books that are readers favorite, Epic Quest, fantasy books, Era Explorer, popular historical fiction for the last five years and three other mystery achievements which they will reveal by February and March.
For so many years now, I’ve been reading historical fiction. I love a touch of history. I hope I could qualify for the Era Explorer.
It’s The Lord’s Baptism

Today officially ends the Christmas season and the Catholic Church celebrates the Baptism of the Lord.
Attended mass online with our good friend Fr. Aly presiding. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and many important events in our lives but the most important one was when we were baptized and became Christians. Through our godparents, we deny the existence of Satan and embrace the Catholic faith. We become the children of God. We are welcomed to the Christian world.
What a lovely and inspiring homily.
It’s For Breakfast

What snack would you eat right now?
It is not exactly for snack but for breakfast. It’s 8:35am now, Sunday morning.
I cooked one head of the broccolis I bought yesterday. It’s crab and corn with broccoli florets. I partnered it with two slices of whole wheat bread. So yummy!
