My, my same old story.
I’ll have my FBS lab test tomorrow and a visit to my ENT so she could interpret the result of my CT Scan. It has been more than a week now since I had my check-up. Quite a little apprehensive though but still hopeful that I won ‘t need to go further test. Although it is no longer painful, sometimes I think my ear is full.
About two weeks ago, my doctor suggested that I file a disability benefit at SSS (Social Security System). SSS takes care of retirees like me and mom too as a survivor pensioner of Dad. All private employees contributes to the fund every month so they will receive pension when they retire. My monthly pension is now the only means of earning that I have although I have shares of stocks in two banks which I’ve been holding on long-term. BPI declares cash dividends twice a year while UBP has one. You cannot earn those dividends if you’ll just put your savings in a bank. One has to learn how to invest in blue chips. I don’t intend to sell them in the near future because the market is bearish. And speaking of the disability benefit, the application should be signed by the doctor and you have to attach those documents proving that you are disabled. Praying it would be approved.

Here’s hoping you will be well covered

Arlene, I hope your doctor’s visit goes well and does not uncover a need for more tests. Good luck with your disability claim. I hope it gets approved for you.

Heavenly Father, Jumping through hoops to be declared disabled is difficult and tedious. Please guide Arlene through this maze so that her life can be a witness about you to everyone who crosses her path. Bolster her faith and boost her spirits. We pray, knowing you hear us and will answer our prayers. Thank you for being with us every moment of our lives. Amen.

Such a lovely prayer Anne, thank you. You are an inspiration to me. I admire the way you string your words in prayer🥰🙏🙏🙏😘
I prayed the Glorious, Joyful and Sorrowful mysteries this morning while waiting for the Medical City clinic to open at 8am.

Praying with people by writing is new to me. Our pastor preached about helping others, and he said don’t tell anyone you are going to play for her. Do it right there. If you are in a crowd, pull her to a quiet place and pray with her. I’m not with many people in person, so I write prayers. When Jesus told people to pray, who knew it could be done via the Internet with a person half the world away? God is awesome!
You are very dear to me.

Same here Anne, you have become a very good friend through the years. You touch people through your prayers and good words….that’s awesome. I could not thank you enough.
Dear Jesus,
Bless Anne and her family always. Keep them safe from harm and let peace reign in their hearts🙏🙏🙏

How lovely! Thank you, Arlene. Your prayer was more appropriate than you could know. David is in the process of quitting his job and looking for another. He is highly stressed by this. Peace is exactly what he needs and what I need to cope with his stress.

I have two work pensions, and the State Pension which I qualified for at the age of 65. With Julie’s part-time job, we manage quite well financially, but I have never had shares or share-based investments.
I hope you results are good, and feel certain that they will be.
Best wishes, Pete.

I retired when I was 43 coz we could not find a househelp so most of my retirement pay went to my cancer treatment and full payment of our house. Good thing you have work pensions as well as state pension. You are very advanced compared to this country full of plunderers and thieves in the govt. Thanks Pete!

I paid around 12% of my salary into the work pensions for 34 years, Arlene. That meant I could retire at 60, five years before receiving the State Pension. (that I also paid into of course) The State Pension alone is not enough to live on, so having work pensions was essential.
