Bought three kilos of Yakon online, they say it is good for diabetics. I’ve tasted this before, a little sweet and crunchy.
Yacon has been used for nutrition as well as folk medicine for diabetes, weight control, and inflammation. Although research is limited, there is some agreement on the potential health benefits of consuming yacon root.

I previously blogged about last night but when I published it, it is password protected so I just deleted it.
I hope you are well away from the storms

It is on its way out Derrick but it caused so much destruction in other provinces. We were not much affected, thank God.

I hadn’t heard of it, so looked it up. Over here, it is available in tablet or powder form, as a ‘root extract’.
Best wishes, Pete.

I think it is better eaten raw Pete. It tastes like turnip and is also used for salad. Tea too when it is boiled.
