Gosh, the past few days, all my afternoons were spent reading. Recently, I read paranormal and historical books, a bit of romance and now I am presently reading an epistolary novel about Alaska. I don’t know why every time I find a book about Alaska, I am always tempted to read it. I can’t remember now but a few years ago, I watched a film featuring the place and I was overjoyed to see those places I only read in books.
Can you believe, a study showed that the Philippines ranked second to the last among 53 countries in terms of pandemic resilience. Pathetic isn’t it? I don’t know what happened to the billions of pesos this administration borrowed supposedly for Covid. To think that private companies who purchased the vaccines are required to give 50% to the government. Hay!!!
It rains every day now, mostly thunderstorms in the afternoon. I am spared from watering the garden. I dread the times though when heavy rains arrive during the months of August and September. I am afraid of floods.
I hope I could write a post more than once a week. Sometimes though, I feel so lazy.
You might still be recovering from the virus, so give yourself some slack.

I feel sorry for you that you haven’t gotten your hearing back. I’m losing mine due to age.

Glad you are enjoying your books and relaxing. It is not being lazy to relax and enjoy life. You worked hard to be able to do just that. ๐
Best wishes, Pete.

Hello Pete, oh, thanks. I don’t know, it seems that this “new normal” is even harder to face when we had Covid. Really, health is wealth.

For sure the effects of the virus have drained your energy. It is dreadful to see how terribly your country has done with the virus. I just like hearing from you every now and then, so once a week is great.

I don’t know Elizabeth, really sometimes I feel so lazy. It may take years before there will be an herd immunity here. They are busy maligning the opposition in preparation for the next election. It sucks.

I wouldn’t call it lazy since I think the sadness also follows the virus.

Reading is the perfect medicine when we are not feeling 100%. Nothing does me as much good as reading a story that surprises me, or one of my old favorites, even those I read in childhood. The other day a line from ‘The Secret Garden’ came into my mind and my heart when I was feeling blue, “Come into the garden.” I felt like God was talking to me through that old sweet story. It will take a lot of self-nurturing to recover from Covid. Spoil yourself a bit…you deserve it.

I love your words Kathy. Reading brings you to some other place you haven’t been to. Am I lazy? Probably, still lazy updating my blog. Come to think of it, I’ve been blogging since May 2009. Sometimes, I could not think of anything to blog about.
Stay safe and be happy always๐๐ฅฐ๐

I’m smiling as I read this Arlene. You are not lazy at all. You are recuperating from a serious illness. Keep resting and filling up your days with happiness. I am the same about the blogging. I’ve been writing posts since 2011. I run out of new ideas, so I often come back to old things, and once in a while I get lucky and have a new tip to add.

You have been blogging for so long too. There are times when we lose our muse and we don’t know what to blog about. At leastbwe are still here, able to say hi and hello to each other. Take care always.
