That was a very lonely and touching experience for me this afternoon. A friend who is also a neighbor suffered a stroke. Only her daughter was with her when I arrived at their place. She seemed asleep but was still breathing, her snore was so loud. Jom, another neighbor came by too and they called an ambulance.
May I ask for your prayers please? Her name is Mercy Jarque, 81 years old. She is like a mother to me and I am so sad to see her suffer.
I learned a while ago when her daughter came back from the hospital that she was DOA. The daughter is bipolar, sometimes she is not her usual self.
This is quite devastating, someone losing her life in this time when movements of people are limited, when you can’t just go out to condole with the family for their loss. Jill does not want her mom to be cremated so Aling Mercy would be transferred to a funeral home tomorrow morning.
Tragic – good wishes to all concerned

Hi Pete, thanks. Even visitors and time of visit in the wake are limited. When she was stil alive, she told her daughter that she didn’t want to be cremated when she dies.

Indeed. They set a limit to visitors and mourners nowadays and there is also a fixed time schedule for visit at the funeral parlor.

Our church is streaming funeral Masses after limiting attendees. It is nice to be there in some way.

If it is not a Covid case, they don’t recommend cremation. Ms. Mercy told her daughter before that she doesn’t want to ve cremated. Most of her friends and relatives are seniors too, not allowed to go out so there are very few who were able to visit her at the funeral home. Even her other daughter who lives there in the US with her family can’t go home.

I agree and most of us especially our govt. They are just beginning to realize the gravity of the situation. They even padded the cost of vaccine which they ordered from china and they don’t even want to divulge to the public because that would be billions of pesos going to their pockets.

And here it turns out Trump didn’t even have a plan. Biden is nearly starting from scratch.

There are still some Filipino-American friends who could not move on.

We could not talk freely like we used to do because most of the time, she can’t hear and understand. But that’s life, we all grow old.
