Finally done gardening yesterday. A back-breaking job but it has to be done.
I bought five pieces solar garden lights but for the past two days we didn’t have enough sunlight to charge them fully. They need at least eight hours in full sun. Sayang! I am excited seeing the garden illuminated at night.
Jovy told me last night not to cook anymore for lunch because they ordered lechon pork belly. It’s the latest craze now here but we haven’t tried it yet. The belly is tied like a roll and cooked slowly in charcoal. They marinate it first before grilling.
It was only yesterday that we said goodbye to some food we had for New Year. I ordered dried fish online and milkfish from the vendor who passed by yesterday and made them into daing na bangus. Yummy dish paired with sliced tomatoes and boiled sweet potato leaves.
How was your New Year celebration? Do you still make New Year’ resolution. I don’t anymore but I promised myself to read another 100 books this year. Done with four.
Sound delicious that pork belly π wish you a lovely and happy new year! Happy readings βΊοΈ π

We just had our lunch. It was, oh so crunchy on the outside but had soft flesh inside. Yumyum. Thanks Ribana.

For the first time in decades we saw the new year in by ourselves. It was strange, but peaceful.

Peaceful at least. I didn’t open the door while ushering in the new year. There were still fireworks here.

Happy weekend to you, too. I’ve never made New Year resolutions – I just try to improve on an all year round basis

I never managed to keep a single resolutions, so I stopped making them many years ago. That pork belly sounds delicious, Arlene.
Best wishes, Pete.

It was Pete. If you’ve ever tasted lecchon there, this was more delicious. Like you, I stopped listing new year’s resolution years ago.

Pork belly seemed to be the rage here a couple of years ago. I never tried it, but kept seeing it advertised. As for us, New Year’s Day was quiet. Too quiet. I am getting restless to be back at church.

Try it, it is better than our lechon.

Happy New Year Arlene! No resolutions here but I have been working on getting back into a routine in order to have more time for things I enjoy doing. Iβm finally going to draw a little today. Your pork belly dish sounds similar to what my mom used to make when I was little.
