Come to think of it. I read complaints about the new editor recently introduced by WordPress. Nope, I am not yet that brave enough to try it, maybe until we are all obliged to switch to the new one. Why fix it if there is nothing wrong?
I am still using the free platform, careful enough not to post high resolution shots that uses my limit. Anyway, I have set up a new blog called Dreams Never End about four years ago and some of you followed it but sad to say, I haven’t updated it for quite some time. It is a different set-up from this one since every post is accompanied by a high-resolution shot, pictures I took long ago. Then I have Colors set in a duotone and I just love it but like the other blogs I have, it is not updated. For my new followers, you may visit them if you have time. I have a gardening blog too and Nate’s of course. You can all see them on my personal links on my blog wall.
I have yet to thank all those new followers who left some comments in my blog but some of them never came back….haha! Thanks too for the bloggers I follow and who follow me back. There are only some loyal bloggers who like and make comments on my posts. Oh yeah, visits have reached almost 623,0000 now and active followers are maybe about 30 to 50 more or less, some just follow without any interaction. I wonder if they ever read anything here. And I agree with Pete, some follow one’s blog so you could follow them back. One important thing that we should not forget though is the blog content. It is not enough that we just write, there must be something that other people could relate to for your blog to be called a success.
I guess, blogging is here to stay unless we find it more difficult to navigate this site in the near future. Change is welcome but it must be user-friendly too, don’t you think?
The free WP is the one I am using too. Hopefully it lasts long.

It won’t as long as you are using high- res photos. they eat it up.

Not using high res photos now. But I still use a lot of photos, can’t help myself. Haha

I agree wholeheartedly of course, Arlene. Content is important, and if you follow someone, you should at least leave a comment now and again.
Best wishes, Pete.

Have you now adjusted to the new editor Pete?

No, I have never used it. I still use the old admin system, at least until they make me do otherwise.

Same here Pete, maybe when we are finally forced to use it, I have to learn to adjust if I would continue blogging.

Any applications should be user-friendly. The problems arise when the designers and the users are on such different wave-lengths.

I’ve been using the new block system for a few months. It gets easier to use over time once you figure out what you really need. That still doesn’t mean that I like it. The biggest issue is that WordPress keeps making changes seemingly on the fly.
As far as picture go, computers can only ‘see” at 72 ppi. If you are using pictures with a higher resolution than that, you are not only using space, but you are slowing down your page.

Hi Ray, you have experienced the old one. What is the difference between the two? Is it easy to learn? I no longer use high-resolution to post a photo here. I adjust it first before posting.

Block is completely different than the old template. Much less flexible and hard to find tools that you need.

Gonna try it when it is already compulsory for all bloggers. Thanks!

I’m so glad you have continued to post, Arlene. You have lasted much longer than most bloggers. I wonder if some followers read our words to keep their English fresh. They may never like or comment on a post, but they are in touch with the real world through us.

Eleven years of blogging, not to count the almost three years I blogged at Multiply before. Well, I hope they are reading our posts…hehe

I guess I will resist using the new editor as much as possible… No time to learn a new platform right now…
Stay safe Arlene

I don’t know the changes they have made Brian but like you I’ll stick to the old one meantime. Thank you, stay safe too.

My God, that’s quite sometime, 11years you’ve been blogging for. I’ve just begun and am really enjoying it. Let’s see if I’m able to write that long😊
Even I feel content is very important…that’s what I’m trying to do also. It’s been a great beginning for me but still far from having a good number of followers. I also use the free version and want to continue on it till the time I can establish myself.

Yes Ritu, blogging has somehow become a way of life for me. I miss it when I can’t post something on my wall. Thanks again for your comments.

I call my blogging people my friends which sometimes makes people look at me with curiosity. “You have a friend in the Philippines?” I sure do.

I’m glad you’re still blogging Arlene. I have had my stops and starts, and don’t blog every day as I once did, but I still enjoy it and like to catch up now and then with my blogging friends.
