The last time I did this was March 3, 2020 when I posted some excerpts from my previous blog posts of 2012. For several nights now, I’ve been watching Interaktib, a one-hour show of two priests and a seminarian at Sambuhay TV. One of them, Fr. Pao is a friend, a young SSP priest who is also active in social media. He encouraged me to share my one-liner thoughts when they go online for an hour for four nights a week. So I thought of looking at and reading my previous posts, they are mostly reflections about life which could be relevant to their Interaktib fans online.
I am also reviving my last four blog posts featuring some earlier posts too. They are not included in my reflections which I want to share with fellow Interaktib fans. These are more personal in nature.
I would love to share this story with baby Nate when he is old enough to understand why we celebrate Christmas. And how lovely and significant it is that we remember the Christ Child who is the reason for celebrating the season. Let it not be cloaked in grandeur but let it be as simple as the child in the manger.

Celebrating birthdays of your kids has that special meaning because you were part of that very special event when they came into this world.

I just love taking photos of every corner of UST. This Arch of the Centuries is the “ruin” of the original structure of UST founded more than 400 years ago.

Humility is not only asking for forgiveness but recognizing and accepting that you are at fault. It takes a humble man to do away with pride and arrogance.

“He has your nose”, I told Obet (my son-in-law) and he smiled.
“Thank God for that”, Nissa said adding “he has my lips”.

There are circumstances and events that live in one’s memory more prominently than the others and going on road trips with the family is one of them – remembering the happier days.

I’m still in 2012, it might take sometime before I’ll reach the posts you’re all familiar with.

This is great to see things you wrote before. It’s interesting, knowing what was important to you in years past.

Blogging is like keeping a journal, isn’t it? I dreamed before of having some of them handwritten. I now started with those excerpts which I will contribute to Interaktib. I have a small journal to write them down.

Blogging is my journal, my brain-sharpener, my friend-keeper, and my memory. That’s great that some of yours are written by hand.

I have a thick journal withba smorgasbord of everything even my passwords, ref. numbers of utility bills paid, some quotes from books I read etc. The one I just opened yesterday is a handy and small one just for my personal quotes. Fr. Pao calls them Food For Thought.

I like imagining your writing in your new journal.
I won’t have a handwritten journal, because I can’t read my handwriting. I wouldn’t think anyone else could, either.

It’s not your typical journal Anne. I didn’t even put dates in it. Just those thoughts I picked from previous posts, most of them are just one-liners. There is a space provided for a pen, it really comes in handy.

A great way to remember the good times, to be reminded of what’s important. Also shows how time just flies by like lightning

Oh yes, it is nice to reminisce. I am doing some by reading earlier posts and writing some excerpts to share with some friends as reflections. More, you can visit one of my latest posts called For Anne Merhling, a sample of my journal.

I like that you can share some of your short reflections, taken from your writings, to share in that way with a different audience. How wonderful to be asked.

Yes it is indeed lovely. I am quite inspired to share them. The first I did, they were just a few short lines celebrating life being in remission. Some online viewers reacted. Thanks Elizabeth.

I think the covid will give us all some meaningful lines when it ends!

We become introspective somehow. This life is indeed temporary and anytime we could bid goodbye.
