Oh, the usual reason, been so lazy again. The weather is still hot here that you couldn’t think of nothing worthwhile to do except read and point the hose sometimes on your face while you are watering the plants. I stopped counting the days since they declared a lockdown here. What is deeply annoying is that after those more than two months of not being able to go out, they are still not doing mass testing. I bet even the official tally broadcast everyday by The Dept. of Health is understated. Their only way and the easiest one for them is to continue this quarantine. Such a shame and they expect the private sector to do the job that they are supposed to do. This government sucks big time.
Three days ago, JP Morgan delivered two brand new HP laptops for Jovy and Josef’s use. They are still working from home. And those employees within the five-kilometer radius to their office are allowed to report to work. They have shuttle service to and from work with two free meals daily. This might go on for more days than we expect.
And take a look at this, Nate is getting chubbier everyday. His hair is getting longer too. Barber shops are still closed. He is happy that Nissa doesn’t report to work yet until the end of the month but she said it is harder to work from home than in the office. Starting next month, they are required to report to the office twice a week.
Done with two books in the last three days that I didn’t blog. I love Nora Roberts’ The Witness. An entertaining thriller interspersed with a little romance, believable plot and an extraordinary heroin. A great summer read. Ten books in advance for this reading challenge at Goodreads.
Take care everyone! May we be all safe from this pandemic.
Lockdown for people of Nate’s age is so much worse than it is for us.

I agree Derrick. One good thing is that he is happy with her Mom and Dad at home.

Yes, it’s hard for children. But perhaps Nissa should cut Nate’s hair? 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

These are great developments for you and your family. Thanks for sharing. I know what it feels like to point the hose on your face when it is boiling hot! Good luck on your reading too!

I am going to attempt my husband’s hair when the clippers Pete recommended get here.

Our barber shops opened today. I looked on line at my hair-cutting place, and they are taking walk-ins only. I’ll wait a few more days.
It was lovely to see Nissa and Nate again.

That’s nice Anne. Seniors like me are not allowed to go out. Nissa sent that pic two days ago. Nissa is a little thinner, she exercises everyday while has become chubby.

I would have been upset if we hadn’t been able to take our morning walks. Because we can walk outside, I don’t feel cooped up. I wish you had that pleasure.

You are blessed and lucky Anne. The youth here up to 19 years old and the senior citizens like us are not allowed to go out☹☹

That’s awful!

It is, I don’t know how long this will be. Not all seniors are weak and sickly. They should have considered that. There are institutions that accept senior citizens like Mercury Drug but we still need to have quarantine pass. I wish the senior citizen IDs would be good enough.

Mass testing? What is that? (Even the French still can’t do it!) Now Mexico? Or the Philippines?
The private sector response has generally been good everywhere. With exceptions, but generally good. Love the idea of the shuttle. Very smart.
Love the photo. Your daughter and grandson? (I miss my grandkids!!!! 😩😩😩)
Take care Arlene

Oh some people here think that they have to test all the 109M Filipinos but it is not what mass testing means, you test those more vulnerable to COVID 19 like the health workers, contact tracing for those who were tested positive, testing for those with PUI or PUM but they are not doing it here. There is a big budget allotted for this pandemic (the govt. keeps on borrowing) but there is no proper accounting of it. Yes, that’s Nissa and Nate with the long hair….haha! Thanks Brian!

Testing should be massive yet targeted. Can’t test the whole population. But again, where does the money go, eh?
Your daughter and grandson live with you right? How lucky. Cheers.

They don’t Brian. Haven’t seen each other for three months now. Where does the money go? In their pockets.

Hmmm. Sorry about that. I misinterpreted. 3 months? You must miss them terribly. (So do we ours)
This pocket thing is beginning to wear on me. Too much corruption everywhere. Even in the “West”. Over there it is just more disguised…
Stay safe. let’s hope this ends soon and we can all get our families back…

Likewise. I’ve been tracking Italy’s figures. They re-opened on May5th. So they have the longest history to analyze. So far so good.

And the more than two months that we were on ECQ was just wasted. Shame, shame☹🤮🤔

We’ve started opening some things back up but with a lot of restrictions. We are supposed to wear masks when we go out in public, and some places require them. I never thought we would be living in such fear all the time. I find it hard to feel safe so I just stay home. I’m glad you all are doing well!

Hi Michelle. I feel the same way. Everything is not normal. And we have to abide by their rules.
