Watched the live streaming of the Sunday mass at the Manila Cathedral at 8am today. Another inspiring homily delivered by Fr. Regie. I get by trying to get in touch with my brothers, some relatives and friends through the internet. This is the time when having a wi-fi at home is a blessed bonus.
I want to share this prayer for all of you out there.
Lord, you are the greatest Healer of all
Please protect our land from the disastrous effect of this pandemic.
Cover us with Your Holy Mantle and embrace us in Your loving arms.
Also praying for the repose of the souls of Nissa’s father-in-law who died three days ago and is still at the morgue of the funeral parlor ( waiting for scheduled cremation on the 29th) and for my friend’s father who died the other day when he hit his head at the pavement near our gate and probably had blood clot in his brain. May You receive them in Your Kingdom to live with you forever. Amen.
I’m so sorry to hear of the death of Nissa’s father-in-law and your friend.

I don´t even know what date it is, let alone if is Monday or whatever, quarantine got me, we´ll be good but sometimes I literally loose track. Then have to wake up and analyze a bit, not much, the situation.
Might as well go with the Tekila for now

This quarantine is changing our lives ☹

Like everything in life. One example, I chose to join the Spanish army and of all the branches it had to be the Spanish Legion. A mixture of things but point being I got through a lot and came out more sane than some others.
I use that extreme example (specially when deployed) to put myself in perspective the situation. Keep my sanity, and as you well know the sanity in the head is much better than a lost limb. That I can say for me.

There is a story here about a soldier from the Marawi siege with PTSD. He had a quarantine pass and only went out of the house to buy cigarette at a sari-sari store. He was gunned down by a police and planted a .38 gun in his bag after the incident. His bag only had several IDs and a bottle of mineral water. The Armed Forces of the Philippines gave him a hero’s burial and demanded investigation on the police. That one I think is a murderer. Some say they were just following orders from the higher up but it was brutal. There were 4 policemen and some bystander neighbors but the latter were prevented from taking videos on what happened. They were shouting that he is a PTSD but they were ignored.

My condolences on those deaths, Arlene. Sad enough at any time, but even worse with restrictions on funeral attendances.
Best wishes, Pete.

That is so true Pete. They cannot even see their loved ones because going to the funeral parlor is not advised. I just talked to Obet and his mom over the phone. Messaged my friend on his father’s death. That’s all we can do, we could not go out and cross borders. Two of Obet’s father’s siblings are doctors and all of them including Nate were made to take antibiotics just to be sure. Thanks again.

I am so sorry for Obet and Nissa’s loss. Here the inability to have funeral Mass is a real loss. I don’t know what will happen eventually. Will they have Mass after Mass for a while? Peace to you.
