Tried one of the ingredients Nissa brought home from Singapore, It’s a Mee Siam Paste. Surprisingly, it tastes good. You just add 200 grams of Pancit bihon, one boiled egg, fried tofu or bean curd topped with green onion. Definitely Asian.
It’s healthy because it is a meatless recipe. It tastes different from our usual recipe using Bihon
sarap! 🙂

I confess I am not a fan of Tofu or Bean Curd, Arlene. But your meal looks very tasty. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

I had to look up pancit bihon! It’s noodles! This sounds really delicious and I will have to check into making this dish. We have some great Asian grocery stores here and also places that make different types of tofu right there. It’s so delicious when it’s fresh. I enjoy your recipes, Arlene! 😋

Hi Sabine, thanks. I still enjoy the traditional way we cook pancit bihon with diced pork or chicken and vegetables like cabbage, carrots and Baguio beans. Try the tofu fried then sliced into cubes then sauteed in fresh tomatoes and a little pork cut into small cubes. Top it with green onions and Chinese celery🍲

I will try the fried tofu, but will leave out the pork since I’m a vegetarian. What kind of rice noodles do you use?

The fried tofu is a stand lone meal Sabine, it is delicious even without meat. Be sure the tomatoes are cooked well. I usually add two spoons of soy sauce and ground pepper as seasoning🍜
