Sometimes, I wanted to change the look of my blog by changing themes but I always end up going back to this reliable one for me, the Misty Look.
There are more free themes going up the site but somehow when you feel just a little comfortable with your chosen one, you are reluctant to try something else.
I was looking at the options for text colors for my Heartland series earlier but I could not find it. I have to make a little research to do it. It used to be there all the while and all you have to do is to highlight the words you want to change into another text color and presto, you’re done. It’s gone.
According to the article I read “You can easily solve this issue by clicking on the “Toolbar Toggle” button, which is the second icon from the right under the “Add Media” and “Add Contact Form” buttons.”
“Once you’ve clicked on that button, you’ll see an icon with an underlined “A” and a down arrow fourth from the left. If you hover your mouse over it, “text color” will pop up.”
Got it. I was just wondering why it suddenly disappeared from the options above unless you click that toggle button. Oh, they keep changing the rules and if you are not aware of it, you’ll be lost.
Some bloggers don’t mind if they have a high stats or not, I do. It is a measure and a barometer wherein you would know whether people are reading your blog posts or not. Some don’t have WordPress account but they read and visit. Occasionally, you get comments from people you hardly see here. Presently, I have a total of 592,509 stats and I hope, it’ll reach 600,000 by year end. It doesn’t matter much if I have thousands of followers or not, most of them don’t engage anyway. 4,000 followers are good enough for me.
How’s your blogging journey?
My blogging journey has been slow and steady, Arlene! I don’t have nearly as much traffic as you do, but I’m okay with it. I started the blog more as a way to keep track of some of the things I do and always promised myself that I’d never want blogging to become a chore. So far so good! I do enjoy your posts and the interactions we have with each other. Keep up the good work! 🙂

I have less and less faith in what WP do and say. I can’t even follow the Happiness Engineers and I am not sure they know any more than I do. As for the stats, my highest day’s viewing is over 2,000 and currently has dropped into the 200+ – yet my comments continue to increase. Make sense of that if you can. Never mind, it is the friendships that count – as we have said before.

So you have noticed it too Derrick? Some options they had before to make it easier to blog are now missing or hidden. I agree with you, it is the community of friendship that counts.

I started out with ‘Misty Look’ too, then changed to ‘Penscratch’ some time later, as it suited my fiction stories better.
I now have over 5,000 followers, including email and Twitter. But I tend to ignore that number, as only around 200 of them ever appear in comments or likes during an average year.
Best wishes, Pete.

That’s a good number of followers Pete. In my case, I guess I don’t even have a hundred followers who make comments on my blog posts. But that is okay too, at least like you, those friends I met here are precious.

Wow! Your stats are great. I’m satisfied with 700 followers and remember when I had only 10.

If your posts were not appealing, you wouldn’t have many followers.

I think some follow our blogs so we would follow them too. They do not actually engage.

Yes, I have my share of those, too.

Hi Arlene, I’m not blogging as much these days but I still love the interactions when I do. My stats have dropped but I still enjoy lots of comments and I think nearly 5500 followers in just over five years is pretty good. Happy blogging. 😊
