Where are they now?
Those long-ago bloggers who used to be so active in commenting then all of a sudden, they are gone. I miss their blog posts. From time to time, I see their comments in my old blog entries and when I click their site links, either the blog has become a private one or they have stopped posting altogether.
When does one stop blogging? I’ve been in the blogging world for ten years now and it did not even come to mind to stop sharing here. As I’ve always said before, blogging has somehow become a way of life. You get to know people from all walks of life, you meet friends and it seems the geography becomes just a few minutes of visits and updates. The places they visit become your world for a while too. You get to laugh and smile about their adventures and empathize with them in their misfortunes.
Of course, it is always nice to meet new bloggers and old ones whose blogs you have just discovered. It is nice to get updates in places you have never been to but you see them vividly in pictures. It is always nice to share your thoughts and somewhere, somehow, someone is glad to hear from you.
Content still counts though. There is nothing like a good content that attracts fellow bloggers and writers to read your blog. Blogging is like going to school focusing on specific subjects one day at a time. I write, you read. You interact, I reply. And when we are happy with the interaction, we form a friendship. We look forward to the next post sometimes with bated breath. What is in store for me today?
A blog entry isn’t just a long text, it is an opportunity to meet people, a chance to meet friends.
I think, not blogging just happens for many. One day, life becomes so busy that blogging takes a backseat. And when there are so many busy days, one just moves on slowly, slowly, away from the blog without her or him knowing it. Then, when he remembers the blog, inertia kicks in. It feels hard to start anew.

That’s true Imelda, it is hard to start a blog and when you have written anything in quite a while, you feel like you don’t know where to start.

You know, 3 of my loyal readers have died. It’s very sad. There was one who personally informed me thru email that her father had died.

Well said Arlene. That is amazing you have been at it for ten years! I celebrated 1 year on August 10th. I have definitely met a lot of great people from all over the world. I don’t know how long I will be blogging, but I do enjoy it. God bless!

Are you okay now Bougainvillea? How long have you been in remission?
LikeLike
By December. I will be in remission for 5 years. I’m doing fine, but I get tired easily. But still, I do my house chores and is still active in church activities. Maybe because of the side effects of the anti-cancer drugs I’m taking.

Wow, that’s something to celebrate. Sabi nila when you reach the fifth year in remission, safe ka na? Are you still taking chemo drugs? Nakakababa talaga ng immune system.

I have often wondered why some people just disappear. I know of just two who have died, but the rest just seem to tire of the routine.
I have some from the early days that I still miss. I always wish they would come back to our community.
Best wishes, Pete.

Arlene, I agree with you that blogging connects us globally. Each time we click to catch up with posts from our blogging community = windows on the world! That has been a big blessing of blogging for me. I also miss dear ones who have stopped blogging & a few who have passed, makes me sad to read their past comments. So grateful for you & your encouragement over the years when I contemplated tossing in the blogging towel! Hugs!🌟🌍🤗🌍🌟

Beautiful description of our blogging world, Arlene! I too love connecting with people all around the world and getting a glimpse into each other’s world and lives. Most bloggers who started around the same time as I did have disappeared from the scene. I sometimes wonder what they’re up to now. I rat to post regularly, but sometimes things get in the way and I need a short break! Keep writing, Arlene! I enjoy every post of yours! 😊

Thank you, thank you Sabine. I am not as active now as I was before. I am discovering books which I love to read in the meantime. But I’ll keep blogging of course, be sure about that. So really glad that I met you here too.

First I think it has to become a habit. Many people seem to start and then run out of steam. As for content, I think a great many things turn out to interest other people, way more than I would have thought when I began. So I just write about what is on my mind or in my life or on my bookshelf. That connects us with each other around the world it turns out.

Right, many have started a blog but they stopped after a few posts. I love belonging to this community of bloggers. So easy to reach out and share. You are one of those I was blessed and lucky to have befriended Elizabeth. Let’s keep blogging.
