For the past six years or so, I’ve been monitoring my stats, at least every three years. Back in 2013, I only had a total of 205,005. Then in 2016, it almost doubled to 410,003. It has somehow reduced though for the past three years, it just registered a total of 579,451.
I understand the somehow downward trend, I haven’t been that active and some of the contents are not that good. Or maybe, people got tired of visiting and reading my posts. Blogging for ten years, I have almost covered all subjects worth-blogging at least for me – my family, the books I read, book reviews, daily happenings in my life, friends, fellow bloggers, being a gardener, being a grandma to Nate, my health, occasional road trips, my thoughts on various subjects that I can think of.
I do write short, short poems sometime when I am in the mood. What I have neglected is to update my photography blog. I haven’t bought a camera yet, so lazy to find a new one. One of my cellphones though which Nissa gave me packs a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12-micron. Good enough for those spur of the moment shots that I love to do. It’s easier to take photos when you are just holding a small gadget. You won’t need to adjust anything, just point and shoot.
I don’t mind much about followers, most of them just follow but do not engage. Many are asking to follow them back even if they just click one post in your blog. I love my regular commenters and likers though. When I see them here, it feels like I am sharing something worthwhile.
How’s your blogging journey?
Your blog is great. I’ve blogged for less than 3 years now and I think some people only follow to get more followers on their blog. But, also I think people just don’t engage with one another as they use to. Why? I don’t know. You just keep posting about whatever you want when you want. And those who genuinely are interested will read.

I’m always happy with my blogging, and I try to interact as much as possible (sometimes that’s impossible). But I’ve only been going for two years

I’m in my 7th year of daily posting. Viewings by and large on the increase. Most important are the friendships that develop through comments

Thank you Kavitha. Isn’t it nice to know that even if we are so far from each other, we are close through our blogs? The wonder of blogging.

Good relationships I agree Arlene and we learn so much from each other.
I love when Derek posts pictures of his garden, very calming to see after a long day at work.

My stats respond well to more postings, and are actually increasing week by week, as long as I put out content. But despite a doubling of the views in the last two years, and a doubling in the number of followers, it is still the loyal and treasured members of the original community who continue to comment and engage.
That’s fine with me. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete..

Yes, when we have more postings, our stats go higher too. Sometimes, I am just too lazy to blog. Perhaps 10 years of sharing my life here is already enough,

Thanks Vanessa. Two years already, how time flies. Thank you so much for always getting in touch and for liking my posts. I appreciate that very much. Keep blogging!

I enjoy your blog even though I rarely comment. Your stats are amazing! If it is any comfort I average less than 5,000 a year for the past 3 years. Those numbers don’t bother me in the least. I guess it all depends on why you write. I have enjoyed my little community of bloggers and hope to give it more time once I retire next summer. In the mean time I try to log into Word Press two or three times a month and post as I can. Sometimes a break can be a good thing, but I hope you continue to blog.

Things like stories of daily life, road trips, a grandson, and children are never-ending. There is something new to write about every day, so I would never get tired of your posts. I can’t believe you’ve been blogging so long, so perhaps you get tired of us from time to time. Please don’t quit! I love chatting with you.

Hi Anne. sorry this reply is a little late. I clicked “like” to your comment then forgot to type a reply. Senior moments are glaring…haha! We had a family day yesterday (today is already Sunday here) celebrating my son’s birthday.
Thank you for the vote of confidence.

Hi Arlene, I think I have been blogging since 2011 on WordPress and if I recall correctly I might have had a blog on Blogger before that time. I find the WordPress classic dashboard the easiest to blog upon. I think I have visited your blog for several years.
I have taken breaks from blogging when I feel dry, or if there is a crisis in my life or someone in the family.
I try to blog every day and that means when I am busy sometimes my posts aren’t the best, or horrors, I will look back on them and find glaring mistakes in sentence structure and punctuation. Sometimes I will go way back into my archives and find through the likes or comments someone I haven’t visited in quite a while. Once in a while they will still be blogging, but more often than not they have stopped.
I hope you will blog for as long as I do, or longer, so I can continue to visit your posts and read of your life and dreams. Kathy

I’ve been writing your name the wrong way, so it should be “K” not “C”. I don’t remember now how we became friends here. Yes, I’ve read a lot of your posts. I may have not regularly commented and liked them. Back in 2011, I joined WordPress’ every day challenge of blogging. I was so enthusiastic then about sharing and all. Sharing what I went through having major operation and chemotherapy started this blog. I was so happy that some people who were not even bloggers could relate to my posts. I even befriended some of them. They shared their own stories about cancer and how they coped with it. Some even went to my surgical oncologist who became their doctor too.
I agree, a lot of people/bloggers which I read before are no longer active in the blogging world. Such a pity that we could no longer read their thoughts and ideas.

First off, you were one of the first to comment three years ago when I started blogging. So a huge thanks. Second, regular life is not boring to other people the way it sometimes seems to us. Other people’s regular life is interesting. Third, without you how would I think of someone when I put on a shirt with a tag saying Made in the Philippines?

You are so kind Elizabeth, thank you so much. Will continue blogging but maybe not as frequent as before. Will still share those “regular life”.
