I’ve been following some people/bloggers for a number of years now liking and sometimes posting comments on their posts but even a like to acknowledge my comments is not even coming. Maybe, they should have put their blog as private if this is the case.
Natauhan din ako, I started unfollowing them. Although I don’t expect them to engage and exchange comments with me, I got tired…finally! Neither do I expect them to follow me back. I have enough of followers whom I could exchange comments. I have enough of visitors who read my blog posts. One could be polite enough to click “like” on one’s comment if you don’t want to comment back, right?
I’ll find some other bloggers whose blogs would give me more inspiration through their sharing.

If it bothers you not to be “liked” or responded to, how much more someone like me? I also wonder why it is very hard for some people to react or even just click “like”? There are times when I think of closing my account but I realized that with or without reaction from followers, writing regularly develops my writing skills and is my way of expressing myself.

That’s true Bougainvillea, blogging improves our writing skills and we write because we want to. I have no problem with my followers, not all of them bother to like or comment anyway but those I follow that I comment without even liking or commenting back is bothersome indeed.

That’s the way to go I think! 🙂

I am quite reluctant to unfollow them but then again when I think about, why should I follow someone who doesn’t even bother to acknowledge his/her followers. Thanks Simon!

That’s it, it’s a community not a place to build people ego’s and carry them along at our expense.

It’s good to have a shake-up of followed sites occasionally, Arlene. Especially those who haven’t posted anything for a long time now.
Best wishes, Pete.

Ah, yes. Some of those I follow have given up and stopped blogging. I have found new lovely blogs to follow and some reciprocate not by following but liking my posts.

Finally ! You speak what’s exactly on my mind… Not that I obligate anyone to reciprocate, but it’s human nature to feel bothered about that kind of situation. There are several bloggers that I’m following, been following for years… I post 2 or 3 times a month, and all this time, I’ve never, ever seen their names on my blog. I don’t have time to read anymore, so I guess it’s about time I unfollow them , and only support those who can find time, even 3 minutes of their time a month to show some interest in my stuff.

Ren, I understand that blogging is more of sharing ourselves in cyberspace, I get that. There are just people who don’t care. I don’t expect them to follow me because I follow them, it’s just that I like their contents but it’s kind of nakakasawa din if they can’t even say thanks when you comment on their posts. As I’ve said, they can keep their blogs private so no one would bother to like and comment 🙂

I’ve never expected anyone to like or comment on my blog. Sure, it’s great to get feedback and it is always appreciated if readers are engaged, but I don’t base my following blogs on the others response or lack there-off. When I don’t post for a while I get a message from a friend or reader who checks in to ask where I am. That lets me know that people are reading, and that makes me happy. I blog for myself, and being able to share some of the things I do in my life is an added bonus. Plus it helps develop better writing skills and connections around the world I wouldn’t otherwise have! Like you, Arlene! 💖

I have no problem with followers to my blog Sabine. All I observed was that some of those that I have followed and commented on for a number of years didn’t even have feedbacks.

Oh, do you mean they don’t have a place to leave comments? That I’ve encountered on a number of blogs. Perhaps they just don’t want to communicate?

Maybe it is more of the latter.

Do you suppose they are just trying to have a lot of followers without really wanting to connect? If so, I agree that you stop following them.

That’s probably it Elizabeth. Even if some of them have nice contents, I have to unfollow.
