I can’t really believe the numbers I am seeing. This is just too crazy. Before I went to sleep, it was barely 1% count and they were not transmitting the results from different areas. They said the transmission server was having glitches. At around 2 am while we were all asleep, there was a sudden surge of vote counts. Something happened. More than 90% of the votes has already been transmitted. And none of the opposition candidates, yes, not one of them made it to the top twelve. How did this happen?
Prior to the close of the election, a lot of precincts in the whole voting areas of the country complained about the procedures done. Some OFWs (Overseas Filipinos) were not able to vote because their OAV (Overseas Absentee Voting) did not arrive on time. Some were disenfranchised, no names appeared on the list of voters. Some who voted for a different candidate has his/her receipt rigged with the name of the administration candidates. VCMs (Voters Counting Machine) were malfunctioning and the voters’ ballots were just put aside and the teachers said they’ll just be the ones to enter those ballots when the machines are fixed or replaced.
And now here comes the magic of it all. Even unknown candidates of the administration made it to the top 12 but those who are best qualified in the opposition like Mar Roxas, Atty. Chel Diokno or even Bam Aquino were swept aside.
Same old questions nagging at me since the campaign started. Where are we going Philippines? One man rule and every one of them follows like musicians relying on the batton of the musical conductor. Is there still hope for us? Have we never learned what the past taught us? Are we going to repeat the same mistakes done in the past? I am almost losing hope. There is really something not right about the results. It’s either some voters are still of the belief that this administration is doing it right or something in those missing hours in between, there was an anomaly. In the local level, opposition candidates won. It just goes to show that people want change. Change for the better, change from this nightmare. And we should hold COMELEC accountable for all these glaring mistakes.
I am quoting two of netizens’ comments on social media:
From Palomo Alpaca: Let us not be fooled. The delay in transmitting results for several hours was not a technical glitch. The interface programs were put to work. What happened was digital dagdag bawas using an intermediate program between the transparency server and the servers of the election watchdogs and media. Madali lang po gawin yun. But you need to wait for the true results before you can do the digital dagdag bawas. That’s what they did. They waited first for the true results before they manipulated the numbers that will be transmitted. That is why there was no transmission for several hours except for a couple of hundred thousand votes from Northern Luzon.
And another from Allan Bernabe:
Computerized tally used to be a smooth, trouble-free process requiring minimal to zero human intervention, that’s already been done several times in our country’s election history.
Suddenly, this computerized system is inexplicably wrought with problems after problems, just to be able to keep on producing a “consistent” 12-0 lead of administration bets?
Something or somebody is so blatantly trying to choke the digital process to force it into deviating from its programmed algorithm.
A single minor adjustment to correct an error of not showing “ñ” in names in previous computerized tally was used as an excuse to inflame a firestorm to try to unseat a duly elected vice president. But now, it’s just “okay” to accept thousands of errors and major server problems in this years “record breaking” lopsided victory of infamous plunderers, liars and self-admitted know-nothing administration candidates?
Why are people suddenly indifferent to such in-your-face monumental anomaly?
That has every hallmark of a totally rigged election, Arlene. Such blatant corruption! You must be frustrated and angry indeed.
Best wishes, Pete.

I read that the local elections were very different from the national. Is that true? I am as sad for your country as for the Russian influenced results in mine.

Yes it is Elizabeth. The local political opponents won. As I’ve said just goes to show that they want change from this govt. Isn’t it logical that when you vote for the opposition in the local elections, you will do the same in the national one? This time though, it really looks that the senatorial election was rigged. All the govt. 12 candidates are in, no one from our side.

That’s what it seemed like in the news accounts I read. It didn’t make any sense that the local and national results were so different.

They are so obvious about it. Comelec owe the people some explanation on the 7-hour glitch. I really hope there is an opposition figure who will lead us. It is easier to say to fight all the way, but without the did, that’s nothing. Maybe this administration is concerned about the national results so it would be free to pass all those plans like federalism etc.

It reminds me so much of the turmoil here. Russia working hard to take over our elections. They don’t need to go to physical war. Just messing with electronics does it.

I’m heartbroken! I’ve never campaigned so hard for a group of candidates, and not one of the 8 made it! I didn’t want to say we were cheated even though there were a lot of questionable occurrences such as what you mentioned, as they might say we were just sour-graping. It’s a scary scenario where the majority of the senators are out to give Du30 whatever he wants as they are indebted to him.

Let us continue the fight, know the truth will eventually come out. Those glitches seemed somehow distractions so they could do their thing. Have you heard of Dennis Uy? They say he is connected to Smartmatic. He has a close tie with Digong. If we connect the dots….. I really don’t want to speculate.

Yes, Dennis Uy is an emerging tycoon from Davao who has close ties with DU30.
