Feeling Thankful

Your words –

make me laugh

make me cry

make me sing.

Your thoughts –

bring me to those places

I’ve never been.

green fields

bubbling brook

dainty wayside flowers.

witnessing the lovely

gifts of nature.

You’ve been a friend

during my sometimes lonesome nights.

You’ve been someone

I have always admired.

Without you

I will get through somehow

It just won’t be that easy.

Your words and your thoughts

I will always treasure

And when things get rough

I will open your poems to comfort me.
