Perhaps you won’t believe this. I am finally done with Christmas shopping for family members and my god-daughter. I had the chance to go back to the mall this morning and made use of the time to roam around and buy Nate something for his birthday too. They’re all wrapped and ready 🙂 Gifts for close friends will follow.
There is an advantage when you buy gifts early. The crowd is almost non-existent. You can choose gifts in your own sweet time without having to hurry and fall in line at the counter. Some areas and stores have brought out new Christmas decor already and believe me, they are more costly than last year. Inflation rate here has gone too high and might be even higher come Christmas time. Maybe next month, I’ll do the Christmas shopping for groceries that we will need come December.
The afternoon was spent at the garden trimming and pruning. The weather with a slight breeze is just right for gardening. I am not done yet though, there is still the carabao grass to cut. Every month, we have to trim it.
I set aside reading for a while. Maybe I’ll try to catch up tonight.
It’s too early to be buying gifts for sure. But it is also a good thing. First you prepared early, and that means you’ve escaped the rush that would be in December. I wish you well.

I know, it’s early yet but I don’t want the rush come December. Thanks!

Not done all of it yet Anne but at least I’ve finished buying gifts for family members. Thanks!

I am not surprised to hear that from you, Arlene. Not in the least. 🙂

Have you put up your decorations yet?

Not yet Elizabeth. We put up decor usually at the last week of November.

I didn’t know when you went all out. Sounds like at the start of Advent.

Arlene, I’m mostly done with Christmas shopping as well! I always pick up things when I travel. It’s a great way to give something special, and also to not have to deal with the crowds around the holidays. To me it’s simply smart! 😉

That’s true Sabine. We don’t have to wait for the long line of shoppers. The gift-wrapping section is not harassed with so many boxes of gifts to wrap so you can have your gifts wrapped too for free,

Speaking about Christmas, the stores here have already put out their Christmas stuff! Hard to believe! Seems like they do it earlier every year. How do stores in the Philippines do it?

We have the longest celebration of Christmas Sabine. It starts as soon as September is here and ends around February the following year. It has become so commercialized but I still love the spirit of it.

Yes, we do. Christmas carols also start playing on the radio as early as September 1.

Wow! I love the Christmas season, but don’t want it start until after Thanksgiving. 😊

I love the Christmas trimmings in malls and department stores. I love hearing Christmas carols too. I love the preparation for Christmas, the frenzy and the anticipation of the event.

I had an uncle who bought next Christmas’s presents in the January sales

I haven’t tried that yet Derrick. I don’t think we have January sales here.

Wow you are ahead of the curve! I know you mentioned prices were up overall, but did you find any good deals? We actually just put out a post on Christmas as well and I’d love your thoughts: https://theagapecompany.com/perfect-gifts-for-travelers-gift-ideas/
