Had a shut-eye at 9 pm. Woke up at 11:30 pm to wait for Josef and Jovy to come home since they had overtime work. Had dinner around 12 am. Went to bed for a while then the rains came. And the alarming winds.
I didn’t anticipate this. These winds are definitely stronger than I imagined. We are only under typhoon signal no. 1. I worry about those kababayans in the north, some provinces are under typhoon signal no. 4. I talked to my brother in Pangasinan last night and they didn’t have electricity.
I watched the news until around 4 am, when I woke up at 5:30 am, there was no cable. I forgot to buy batteries for my transistor radio. The internet is the only reliable source of news. Kudos to our weather bureau PAGASA which updates us with the typhoon every three hours and hourly news at their online site. This typhoon covers a wide range of provinces in the North and Central Luzon, it includes Metro Manila too. In the Visayas and some parts of Mindanao, they are having monsoon rains at the moment.
Praying that this will end soon.
Good luck. Godspeed.

Stay safe! The U.S. was hit with the strongest hurricane/typhoon ever yesterday. We are waiting for the effects to reach us, which should happen tomorrow night, as the storm is moving very slowly. I have plenty of batteries, candles, oil lamps, bottles and jugs of water, and food. Forecasters still don’t know if we will get high winds and flash floods or if the storm will turn and miss us. I have you and everyone in Typhoon Ompong’s path in my prayers!

Thank you so much. It is always a necessity to be ready in times of disasters. We will never know what will happen until it happens. Hurricanes are stronger there too just like the typhoons we have here. Typhoon Ompong has a very wide diameter radius so even if it will be outside of the Philippine are of responsibility later, half of it will still be inside PAR. Take care and stay safe too. Thank you so much for the prayers. Will pray for you all too.

I hope your winds have calmed down now. We are waiting for hurricane Florence to start in our area. The storm has been getting weaker, so we may have only gusty winds and several inches of rain.

The rains and winds have stopped this morning Pete here in our area. But in some areas like our place in the province, the typhoon is still at it, super strong. Thank God, there was no flooding here.
