Finally done with trimming the carabao grass. Josef finished it this morning. This afternoon, we swept all the debris.
Our good neighbor Jom gave me several seeds of white Ternatea, Kadyos (Pigeon pea), Roselle and Burgundy Okra which were given by Ray, another member of our group. There were even cuttings that I am not even familiar with except the Shingles stem. I am excited about the Burgundy Okra, haven’t seen one yet except in pictures. I already have the Blue Ternatea, they are growing nicely but don’t have flowers yet. Glad to have seeds of the white ones too.
I am a member of a closed group called Gardener’s Tambayan and the members are all garden enthusiasts. We exchange notes, plant seedlings and seeds. Some have beautiful garden features. I am quite envious of their well-paved gardens. The seeds were given free by another member of the group and Jom gave them to me. They had their monthly get-together (for the Eastern Rizal members) this morning.
So excited to see them grow and bloom. I wish I have a larger garden so I could plant more.
Good to hear more of you enjoying your gardening, Arlene. I should do more, but it has been too hot here for gardening. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Summer must really be hot there Pete. I am excited. I hope they all would thrive. I talked to the two donors of the seeds and cutting on FB, they were so accommodating on how to take care of the plants when they grow. Thanks!

It is around 30 C most days at the moment, Arlene. For us, that is exceptional. 🙂

That’s hot for you. When it is summer here we reach up to 36 C to 37 C in the hottest days.

It got as high as 33 here one day, but that’s too much for English people. 🙂

How lovely. I’ve been getting out in my garden a bit more lately too, as cold and neglected as it is here.

My daughter and I have planted some flower seeds in small pots in our garden, Arlene. I cannot wait to see them blooming. I forgot their names. Maybe you can tell me, when i post a picture of them in the near future. Glad it did not flood into your garden. Take care!

Sure thing, why not Nahla. Just don’t forget to take photos. I am sure they would be lovely when they bloom.

I am sharing another picture from our yard today. I am remembering to follow your suggestion of showing a little more of the garden to compare with yours in the Philippines.

That’s nice Elizabeth. Yes, I am curious what you nurture there aside from berries.

Right now tomatoes and green peppers. A lot of dill runs wild from some long ago seed.

That’s nice. I haven’t attempted to plant dill here.

Sharing tips, seeds and seedlings with other gardeners is one of my favorite things about gardening. And of course learning what others around the world grow.
Happy summer Arlene! 😎

It’s summer there but it is rainy season here Sabine. I love the rain without the flood. I am thinking of planting those seeds when the rain stops. Thanks 🙂

I am having fun looking at all those garden blooms Derrick. They are not just into ornamental, they’re into veggies too.

Tita, my Dad calls our lawn here carabao grass, too ! ! Over here ,we call it San Francisco, and we started from scratch ! Our neighbor gave us a bucket of the grass and dad painstakingly planted each grass with roots. I have a pic of our backyard lawn. Have you seen it yet ?
