I am sad and angry at what is happening to the supposedly honorable Supreme Court Justices of the land. The Supreme Court has clearly lost its credibility with these men in robes.
Count on it, this is definitely a rant.
Yesterday, those eight justices who voted for CJ Sereno’s ouster were the same people who didn’t give her a chance for reconsideration on her Quo Warranto appeal. At the same time they also dismissed the case of the Marcoses on all the charges of hidden wealth and plunder, take note, in billions of dollars. And it seemed they are still running the country with the president as their puppet. Bongbong Marcos wouldn’t give up that he was actually defeated by our VP Leni Robredo last election. They are changing the rules to their own advantage. And here’s more, Imelda Marcos saying that she wants to see her son in Malacanang before she dies. Is she dreaming while awake? Perhaps they have clearly forgotten that bloodless revolution way back in 1986 where they were exiled in Hawaii.
I wish people would find it in their hearts not to be accepting and apathetic of what is happening now. But most people are afraid to voice out their opinions and speak. Anyone who contradicts the president is his enemy. And here comes another directive from Duterte (yes, it is not a law, just his whim) to the Philippine National Police to arrest those who are hanging out in streets or even in front of their residences. And as always just like his drug war, the poor people are the first to be victims. He is clearly creating a grim scenario so maybe he could also declare Martial Law all over the land. They arrested stevedores at the port who were still in uniform earning an honest living. The police seems to have lost its ball in this Duterte game. Pathetic 😦 They’re like dogs given chew bones and they are busy with it. Aren’t they supposed to protect the people?
Oh my gosh, what next?
Paano po ba talaga tayo umabot sa ganito? nakakapanlumo 😦

Ay naku, sinabi mo. Can’t we do anything except to rant? Will there be someone who would start something to right these wrongs?

I think your president is becoming over-excited, because he is so admired by Mr Trump, and believes the Americans will support him, whatever he gets up to. Not a good situation for your people at all, Arlene.
Best wishes, Pete.

Oh Pete, he loves everything Chinese. He is giving away our little islands in the West Philippine sea to China. Even Chinese fishermen are abusing our own getting their catch. He does not want those loans from Japan with a minimal interest but he wants to borrow from China with that so high interest rate. Our Philippine peso has gone way, way below vs, the dollar. I believe he is Trump’s twin but he is even worse.

But how come at least 70% of Fiipinos still support him? I can’t wrap my head around that fact . Is it a fact ? Do you know there’s a Troll farm over there ? They even have an office in the Philippines. They are people who are in social media extolling the virtues of Duterte, and threatening anti-Duterte writers.

70%, I don’t think so, that is probably just an educated guess. You can’t rely on surveys nowadays. That’s why he won the election because of those trolls. They are still active until now. Ngayon naman, there is that “tambay” issue”. PNP are having the time of their life catching people here and there thinking they are “tambays”.

Oh, right. I heard about that . My parents somewhat agree on that…. they say there are just to many do nothings standing by outside and more often than not, harassing people. The thing is, it’s a very subjective issue. Do they arrest a group of people just standing by at the mall, maybe waiting for other friends ? Or if one is alone standing by, does he/she get arrested too ?

Now, they have become selective, most victims come from the poor areas in Metro Manila. Have you seen the viral video of a man who has just woke up and went out of his front door without his shirt on. He was just about two or three feet away from the door when a cop passed by and stopped and said, the man should come with him. Imagine that. Parang wala ka ng karapatan lumabas sa bahay mo at makipag chikahan sa kapitbahay.

Sad for us both, Arlene. And to feel all the frustration and have no power to change it at the moment is probably the most depressing. Gentle peace to our hearts and fierce justice to our people, and immigrants, soon!

I am very sorry to hear about this Arlene! Unfortunately this kind of “leadership” seems to be on the rise worldwide. We now have young children and infants taken away from parents who are fleeing desperate situations in their countries of origin, only to find out they are locked up in cages like animals!! Children!! Babies in diapers!! And much of our elected officials have been silent or worse, by making fun of this human rights tragedy! The world needs to elect more woman! Take care of yourself Arlene!

I am wondering Sabine. Is this a worldwide trend? Why is it that those in government now are not really responsible? I read about those young children and infants too. Do they have compassion for the young? I kept thinking that maybe DT and our own are twins, they think alike. Thank you so much and have a good day Sabine.

Zero compassion as far as I’ve seen! One “adviser” was heard mocking a 10 year old child with Down’s Syndrome. It is cruel and inhuman to treat anyone like this, especially those who can’t defend themselves. The sad thing is though that quite a few people here cheer this on! 😢

My gosh, what is happening to the world? Have our politicians and their cohorts turn into unforgiving and unfeeling people? I wonder.

I don’t know, people seems to be immune with the wrong doings of our politicians. Same here, every day, some unpalatable news always crop up and those Duterte followers even clap their hands. Pathetic souls. He is not fit to be a president, wonder why they still support him.

Yes one has to wonder about that! Unfortunately we have our own version playing out here every day. I find it extremely stressful to have to try and make sense of it all, and most importantly finding out the truth!

I understand it. Sometimes I feel so hopeless with what they are doing to our people and our country. It’s a one-man rule courtesy of the Marcos coffers. That is why the president is not afraid to do these things, he has big financial backers.

What’s next is they will be removing VP Leni from Office so they can install Bongbong Marcos! It is so infuriating but we are so helpless. Looks like we will see more martyrs before we regain back our Democracy. When will the DDS wake up?
And yes, why does it seem that the Power of Darkness is winning over Good in most of the governments all over the world?

Grabe no? Sobrang ambisiyoso si Bobong (by the way, that is a deliberate spell of the name). They will do all the means to attain their goal. They have billions of dollars.

Hi arlene! Thanks for the “rant” it releases some of mine. I am really disgusted with what’s going on and everytime our president opens his mouth. Oh how i wish the Filipino people will wake up before it’s too late.
