Our cat Mimi is growing old. Lately she learned not just to sleep under the dining table but to be inside the bedroom as well when I am asleep or just reading. She would rub her body near my legs and find a suitable position to take a nap. Sometimes she would just look at me with her eyes almost closed. I don’t know much about the language of cats. Maybe she is saying “Can I stay here for a while”? She’s been Mommy’s pet when she was here for almost a year with us. Mimi would sit on her lap when Mom is watching television. She watches too, maybe fascinated by the color and the movements in the programs being shown. She would stay at the foot of Mom’s bed when the latter is asleep.
I had a chance to take her photos on my tab a few days ago. You know that contented mew cats utter when they are happy. When in the past she would reach out and try to see what’s on my tab, nowadays, she just looks at me while I point my tab at her.
The daily life of a cat. These are just ordinary photos I took of her three days ago. She has learned to mingle and play with our remaining dog Noki and when I am in the garden, she stays there too.
We miss having a cat, but not enough to get another one. Yours is sweet.

We have three Anne, the other two are Mimi’s. They are males so we won’t have to worry about spaying them.

I love cats, but unfortunately my husband is very allergic to them.

I know. I always had a cat before I was married.

Cats are wonderful companions. We have a cat who is 20 years old and almost completely deaf. Recently he changed his sleeping place from a nice comfy couch to the hard, flat top of a computer desk. I’ve been reading a lot about how cats change as they age, and they can become very eccentric.

Cats are lovable creatures. When Mimi was a little younger she would catch rodents and bring them near our dirty kitchen. We don’t have those mice anymore, maybe they are afraid of our three cats.

Oh, I’m sure the mice are afraid. I recently had to call an exterminator to come take care of our problem with mice because our cat no longer catches them.

That’s sad. The vacant lot behind our house is the culprit, it’s their hiding place. Our three cats are always on the alert…haha!

The exterminator said the mice here were coming from a field that had recently been mowed. Our neighbors didn’t get any mice, even though they live a little closer to the field, because they have a cat that is a wonderful hunter.

Cats do that all the time and sometimes they even present you with the prize…haha!

She is enjoying her final years in a loving house, Arlene. No cat can ask for more.
Best wishes, Pete.

How old is she? Cats lead simple lives. Content with what they have. A roof. A loving family. Stability. 🙂

I don’t know exactly but she was a stray kitten that we adopted before. They sleep, meow for food and visit the garden when I am there.

They say cats only meow with humans. Not among themselves… 🙂

I didn’t know that, thanks for the info.

Not sure it qualifies as “Info”. Just a thing I heard, which seems to fit in with personal experience with cats (I’ve had many, many cats in my life.) BUt I haven’t double-checked whether it is a true scientific fact. 😉
