Yesterday, we celebrated Nissa’s birthday. It was quite late by a week but it was worth it. Nate was shouting “Let’s eat at Kenny Rogers”. Nissa told me that Nate’s favorite is the mac and cheese which is served as a side dish in their broiled chicken menu. We chose between the former and Kuya J’s. The latter serves Filipino food. Since Nate was the only one who liked to eat at Kenny’s we decided to have lunch at Kuya J’s. Last time we ate here was during my son’s birthday last June.
We had two orders of halo-halo for dessert but the glass was so big one order was enough for two. Yummy, yummy ube ice cream plus a little of other ingredients like leche flan, jellies, ube, corn flakes and macapuno. Their halo-halo is one of the top six halo-halo flavors you can find thereabouts.
They call it their Halo-halo Espesyal and the shaved ice is actually made of milk so it does not make it watery. So flavorful and so yummy.
I am thinking of where we will celebrate my birthday next. Maybe we will come back here to try their other recipes. More than the food, it is the company of family that made the post-celebration special.
