We go on, not because we are strong, but because we carry those who are gone with us. We are the guardians of their memory and the propagators of their legacy. So we must live fully, but we will never forget them . they will be part of every moment of joy and we will hear them in every cry of new life. We will carve something new out of this blood-soaked rock and we will stand, unafraid. We will strive to be better, to be kinder, and to give full measure of compassion, and even though the price of love may be loss, we will pay. No matter the cost, we will love blindly, boldly and without bounds.
– September Blue, Whitney Cat
Such wisdom, beauty and strength in these words. Guess that can sum up where I am at now. In my journal I wrote how there are no words to describe that area in our lives where we are no longer grieving but also not past it. I like how this says it. I guess we are “carrying on”. Perfect because both Tom and I were planning on getting involved again in prison ministry (we were involved over 30 yrs ago) after he retired and his knee surgery, we never had the opportunity. BUT I decided to go on – so yes I am carrying on what God called us to do. God’s timing is so perfect in how He answers us.

Lovely words, aren’t they Patty? It is nice to know of your advocacy. There are so many people grieving for their loss and it is really hard to move on.
May you always have a blessed journey.

I carry the memory of those who have gone on within me. Along with God, the memory of them is a place of refuge when I feel bruised and battered by the world.

We remember…we always remember. sometimes we feel sad about it all but there are times too when we smile at the thought of having them in our lives.
