I went back to my doctor yesterday after a series of blood tests which I’ve undergone over the weekend. He interpreted the results and said “”they are all normal, ang galing ng doctor ano?” I just smiled and thanked him for the medications he prescribed earlier. My blood pressure has significantly gone down and so was my blood sugar level. It is quite hard to have your blood extracted every week , it is a bit harder to go on fasting for several hours too. I have to continue with my medications though for another month until further check-up.
Sometimes, I wonder about the “what ifs” in my life. What if I didn’t feel that sudden blinding headache and body malaise then I won’t have those weekly laboratory tests and doctor visits. What if I did exercises every day then I won’t have to suffer and limit my movements now. What if I got conscious of what I ate before then probably, I won’t have to limit my intake of fatty and starchy food.
We do all have those questions . At some time in our lives, we feel those blinding curves that make us weak in the process. It might not just be physical but mentally as well. We dwell on the what if. What if I did this or I did that? We never would know the repercussions of what we are doing right or wrong until we are in that situation. We could never assure ourselves that everything would be okay as well. We are all responsible though with the outcome whether it was a wrong decision for us or not. When we encounter things that we didn’t think of that will happen, we don’t know what to do.
It’s been a lesson learned for me and I learned it well. At my age, I anticipate some body weakness maybe at a later date or time but not this. Although most of the family members up to the third degree are prone to high blood pressure, I haven’t heard of one who has elevated blood sugar. I am a cancer survivor that is why I am a little wary when it comes to my health. It might come back any time or (thank God) it might not. It might choose to appear in other organs of my body. Those are the “what ifs” that I sometimes ask myself.
Life is a wonderful gift. Treasure it.
so happy you are better!

I wish you well Arlene. It’s hard not to second guess and ask those big What if questions, isn’t it? But sometimes we have to just accept. Warm hugs to you

God holds you in his tender care and has equipped you with a keen sense of body knowledge. You know when something is amiss and you have earned the wisdom to know when to act. I praise Christ you are feeling better. I think that the only time the clock crawls along is when we are in pain or otherwise not feeling well. I pray for his continued protection upon you.

Hi Tina, it is nice to see you here. How are you?
God is good all the time. He makes us feel the pain so we could watch out. I’d like to think I’ve been good taking my medications regularly. Thanks a lot.

Hi Arlene,
I have been plugging along. The Lord is good. Had a bit of an accident making soup last week and ended up with a large 2nd and 3rd degree burn across my entire abdomen but I praise God that my great nephew did not get burned as he was there as well. God is good in his ultimate protection. As you know well, we would suffer hell’s fire if it means our little ones are safe and sound. I am so glad you know your body well enough to realize when something is off and you get attention in a timely manner. I think most folks get themselves in trouble by ignoring trouble signs and then it develops into something major. Stay blessed and enjoy every moment of joy and bliss while pushing through the hard spots. Thankfully, we needn’t travel through those rough spots alone.

Just be careful when you are in front of a stove. I hope it is better now and you’re feeling okay.
Except when I was diagnosed with colon cancer, this is the first time that I went back to my doctor for about a month. I was really alarmed. Good thing all is okay now. I am feeling better than before.

Hi Arlene, Thanks so much. It is healing nicely. My computer died so I have been offline for about a week. I hope and pray you are fully recovered at this point?

Glad to hear that your results were good, Arlene. Choices we make in life sometimes come back to haunt us indeed. But life is a multi-stranded thing, and not every decision is that straightforward. We have no control on what our parents feed us as children, and as younger people we experiment with too many different lifestyle choices. All part of the great tapestry of existence, it would seem.
Best wishes, Pete.

So true Pete. There are times in our lives when some things are beyond our control and we get agitated and worried even. Glad to tell you everything is okay now so far though sometimes I have poor grip of things . Thanks!

Arlene–I am so glad that you did not have a stroke. Instead your symptoms led you to take action and see the doctor. Blessedly, the doctor could get your blood pressure stabilized. I didn’t begin to exercise until my late 60’s. And just recently I had to modify my diet further. As my doctor has said repeatedly, “You want to be around for your grandchildren don’t you?” Forget the what ifs and just enjoy the new health awaiting you.

Hi Elizabeth, thank you. I jut turned sixty last October and this started a month ago. It’s true as we grow older, the aches and pains are right there. They are inevitable, don’t you think. I know we also grow wiser with age but when these ailments come, we are prone to worry. I am getting well, thanks again.
