I just received my badge on Goodreads’ 2017 Reading Challenge. I committed myself to read 150 books this year. Done with one Just about to start A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle. Hoping this book won’t disappoint. The short summary says: A Year in Provence transports us into all the earthy pleasures of Provençal life and lets us live vicariously at a tempo governed by seasons, not by days.
Reading is such a joy that I could not give it up. Hopefully, I’ll finish the challenge with flying colors. I feel good at a mere sight of a book. Aside from the author, sometimes the cover is one deciding factor why a certain book is priority on my list. Done with some classics last year, it is about time to discover new authors. Good luck to me.
That is a wonderful challenge! I recently finished Marvellous Ways which I can highly recommend. I cannot remember the author right now. 🙂

I loved A Year in Provence; will look forward to your reaction, Arlene! What a great way to enjoy good books! All my life, trips to the library and book store have been the shiniest parts of my week! 🙂

I am loving it Kitty. I like the narrative and how life is like in Provence. You are a bookworm too? Nice to know that 🙂

This is one that I have actually read! I am sure that you will enjoy it. It was televised as a serial on TV here, and was very popular.

Well done with your badge. You read more books in one year in 2016 than I have since 1990!
Best wishes, Pete.

I’m sure I could read 150 books a year if they were all 10 pages long. Kudos to you!

You just reminded me that I wanted to do this. I need to make realistic goals. I failed miserably to meet my book reading target last year.

I hope you enjoy A Year in Provence. I have read all of the Provence books and enjoyed every one. Even my husband who only reads spy novels and nonfiction enjoyed these. Good luck on completing your 2017 Reading Challenge!

Good to know you are enjoying your “reading mode”, Ms. Arlene. That’s one thing I struggle at. I get sleepy when I do read. I get sleepy before I could finish a page. I’m more visual I guess because I can watch TV series for 24 hours.
Anyway, all the best for you in 2017!

Thanks, I wish the same thing for you. I guess sanayan lang ata pagbabasa. I am not into watching TV…seldom lang talaga.

I admire your goal…I think I read “A Year in Provence,” a few years ago, and if I remember right….it was very good.
