It’s been a long night. A lot of my friends and relatives saw the video of my interview last night. Come to think of it, I didn’t even tell them that there was a segment called Magic ng Pasko. I got hundreds of likes and several comments on the album I posted there. A generous friend took shots of the video and sent the photos to me. It was the first episode in a series I think this Christmas season. Here’s the hashtag that the GMA network used in this segment.
They uploaded it on YouTube. It was done though in Tagalog so most of you won’t probably understand what’s been said. Anyway, I am posting it here for you to see. Not registering so well on TV I think, body fats are aplenty… haha!
Some say they got inspired by the story. Some say they admire the strength I had facing such a predicament. Some say they admire my faith amidst such trials. I say that God’s graces are immeasurable. I think of what happened as a test of strength, how far one can endure, how far one can go on and how far one can let the magic of Christmas stay alive in our hearts. It’s been seven long years and I know I am healed.
What a marvelous thing it was for me to see you and hear you! Of course, I didn’t understand much of it, but I responded to your million dollar smile. Thank you very much for posting this.

Arlene, thank you so much for posting this! Although I couldn’t understand the words, I certainly could understand the message. It was wonderful to see you! I have a Filipino friend here in the U.S. who speaks Tagalog. I will have her translate for me when I see her this weekend.

Hello, it is so nice to see you here. Yes, it was done in Tagalog. I hope she could really translate it for you. I just recalled what I went through during my treatment. My surgical oncologist cut my colon by 9 inches then rejoined it. It was a journey of six cycles of chemotherapy afterwards.

Thank you Claire. God is the greatest healer. He allows us to experience pain so we could be closer to Him. Sorry, I forgot to tell you it’s at Channel 7.
Salamat ulit.

No worries. I didn’t expect it to air sooner. I thought is won’t be featured until Christmas. I was thinking along the lines of Jessica Soho. 😉 Nice to meet you Ate. Perhaps we could really have coffee for real someday. Now that’s something to post about 🙂

I think it’s the first in a series they’ll be having this Christmas. About the coffee, sure why not?

Thanks for posting the clip, Arlene. The language didn’t matter, as your thoughts and story came across anyway. You are exactly as I always imagined you, and your warm smile and cheerful manner made the short film a delight to watch.
Best wishes, Pete.

I agree with Ann – your smile breaks any language barrier, thank you for sharing this with us. And I love what you said, “I say that God’s graces are immeasurable. I think of what happened as a test of strength, how far one can endure, how far one can go on and how far one can let the magic of Christmas stay alive in our hearts.” May God continue to bestow His Grace on you as you touch all of our lives. This is very inspiring! I really admire your strength. My Aunt had gone through breast operation two weeks ago because of a lump present on her left breast. The doctor advised it to prevent the development of cancer. She’s on a low phase right now, she’s depressed and it hard for her to accept that one of her breast is removed. We kept on telling her jokes and make her smile day by day. I’m gonna make her watch your video tonight and I’m sure she’ll be inspired by your story and help her to move forward. Thank you for this! 🙂

You’re welcome Raymond. I started this blog because I wanted to share my plight as a cancer patient and survivor but over the years it has evolved into something more personal in nature sharing about life and what not. I am thankful for those people and fellow bloggers who found my site and are somehow inspired a little by it. Warm regards to your aunt. I hope she gets well soon.
