5am. I woke up to a gentle breeze blowing from my window. It is so uplifting to feel the wind on your face, no longer threatening, no longer gusty. I am praying for those who were deeply affected by typhoon Lando – flooded areas, submerged homes and it will take a long time before you can forget something this devastating. The aftermath is more damaging, it’s like starting all over again but with deep faith, life has to go on. This gives life’s meaning, battling the storms in one’s life and emerging cleansed and victorious. I am reminded of a few lines from a lovely song, walking through the storm and holding your head up high.
♫♫♪When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark♪♪♫♪
You’ll never walk alone.
We have seen the devastation from the typhoon on the TV here, Arlene. I hope that the weather subsides soon, and that those affected are helped quickly by the government.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete! The govt. is doing all it can to bring everything back to normal. I don’t even know what normal means nowadays because when I saw those pictures on the aftermath of the typhoon, I am reminded of what we experienced six years ago from a typhoon this strong. The dark clouds are still hovering, poised to bring rain all over again. We have an hourly updates on the weather and the most affected are those in Central Luzon. Classes in all levels have been suspended here in Metro Manila.

We were not much affected except for occasional light rains and gusty winds until last night. Hopefully, the weather will improve soon. Thanks again Pete!
