Congratulations to my dearest Alma Mater, University of Santo Tomas for the 14th straight overall championship. Afterall, UAAP is not all basketball. Go USTe, you deserve a big round of applause.

A Day In The Life Of A Gardener

I used to visit and revisit it a dozen times a day, and stand in deep contemplation over my vegetable progeny with a love that nobody could share or conceive of who had never taken part in the process of creation. It was one of the most bewitching sights in the world to observe a hill of beans thrusting aside the soil, or a rose of early peas just peeping forth sufficiently to trace a line of delicate green. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne, Mosses from an Old Manse
Getting dirty, no problem since the smell of growing things is enough reward and the tranquility and silence the garden brings is a prayer that soothes the soul, enlightens the mind and frees one from worry. And there is nothing like the sound of water in the small pond, the chirps of Maya birds hopping from branch to branch, the play of light among the tender shoots of green leaves. And this is how my typical day begins.
What were left of my Cacti plants after typhoon Ondoy.
Now, it’s our other cat’s turn to shine. She’s still sleepy but she gladly obliged.
