Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.– Albert Camus
I called a friend today, a former office mate at the bank where I used to work. Although we get in touch at Facebook, this is the first time in a decade that I was able to talk to her – hours of touching base and renewing ties. And it seemed as if the years in between were just mere days of absence. She has left the bank earlier than I did and she’s now a stay-at-home mom like me. We agreed to meet again one of these days. I am looking forward to that actually.
Then I saw the daily digest posted here at WordPress. It’s something like you can only have so much friends that you can maintain a relationship with in the real sense. That is why sometimes, I also have my reservations in just adding up so many contacts just to show other people that I have lots of friends. We are given the privilege of choosing our friends and true friendship needs time to grow and to flourish. It needs nurturing just like other relationships. It also needs constant communication to make it a success.
